Evan Smith: The Sagan Planet/Space Walk is a scale model of our solar system. Starting with the sun, you can scan a QR code, follow arrows on the monuments, and/or dial into a phone tour narrated by Bill Nye. You’ll end up walking through some beautiful neighborhoods with bookshops and cafes to explore, parks, etc. It is very much worth the time, especially if the weather is nice. Follow the planets and then head to one of the many gorge trails!
I will only post photos of the very beginning of the walk with the Sun and Mercury
Lori Ramirez: Peaceful, serene. Rustic hike. Lots of waterfalls. Ruts in path. NOT child friendly or stroller friendly. Yes, pet friendly. Watch your steps.
No restrooms. Carry in, carry out. Well worth the trip! I recommend.
Rachel Somers: This is a great place to go with friends or family for a lake swim! You can cliff dive or just walk into the water, the trails are also super beautiful. There are a bunch of different places along the trail/river to put some towels down and sunbathe or swim!
R: Taste local cider, wines, buy local organic honey & the most beautiful flowers. Plenty of posies flowers get more beautiful each day & they last all week.
I F: The treehouse is beautiful, and my child really enjoyed it! However, the nature center was closed, and the animal enclosures were empty. Additionally, there was no access to bathrooms. On a positive note, we did enjoy walking along the trails.
Grace Xing: We absolutely loved our visit and workshop at Gourdlandia! Graham is so warm, fun and artistic, encouraging everyone to explore their own ideas while ready to help if you seek her opinions. We did not understand why she predicted at our arrival we were going to have a party in the bathroom of her workshop until we took turns to try out our nightlight creations :)). We are already planning our next visit: walking in the gourd gardens and the eco-village - one of the earliest in the US.
Abraham Zayat: The Trolley Museum of New York is a unique and fun destination for both history buffs and families. It offers an impressive collection of historic trolleys and streetcars, some of which you can even ride! The museum provides interesting insights into the history of public transportation in the area, with exhibits that are both informative and engaging. The trolley ride along the scenic Kingston waterfront is a highlight, offering beautiful views of the Hudson River. Its a great spot for a nostalgic trip into the past and a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.
Monique: Nice little beach on the Hudson. A picnic shelter & bathhouse are at the parking lot. Theres a ballpark across the street & more picnicking close by with a covered shelter & lots of tables & benches...a lot of benches. You can take a walk along the old railroad tracks that hug the Hudson to take a look at the lighthouse in the middle of the river. Not clear if the tracks are still used. Maybe by the trolley museum close by? But there are picnic tables along this trail, too.
