Ryan Mazierski: The Hudson River Maritime Museum displays a wonderful collection of maritime history in Kingston, NY. The maritime history it covers spans from the Native Americans to now. The museum is easy to find on the waterfront and also has cruises on a solar powered boat called Solaris. The museum has many marine craft of all kinds ranging from canoes, fishing vessels, sloops, iceboats,, parts of steamships, and even a full tugboat directly outside the museum. There are excellent displays presented, as well as models of many ships that made voyages on the Hudson. The exhibits about life in a lighthouse are also very good. In all, every part of Hudson River history is well presented. It is easy to spend over an hour here taking in all the different displays. The exhibit Hudson River iceboats may be the most interesting. Be sure to look around outside the museum as well, the tugboat must be seen. The museum’s gift shop offers many books about local history as well as museum merchandise. Most items in the giftshop are reasonably priced. If you want to go on the cruise you should book a ticket ahead of time. If just going to the museum it is easy to just walk in and buy a ticket. Definitely an overlooked museum and secret gem in Kingston.

Gypsy Den NYC: I make it out each year and I’m surprised by the craftsmanship, the attention to details and how all of the actors get really into their roles. The staff working the production and venue are always easy going as well as helpful. My friends and I love the apple cider donuts we always take home a dozen. We all have our favorite foods and treats, and it’s a must to shop for new headless horseman gear. We excited to visit frostbite this year for the first time.

Michael Reis: Niche, small park with boat launch, potential fishing area and limited partially maintained trail system. Trails lead to views of the Rondout and Hudson Rivers - with tide-dependent wading opening more trails & beach areas. Muddy feet possible if not mindful on trails. Trail maintenance and picnic tables would be an improvement.

Carol Ann Jason: Falling Waters Preserve is a great area to hike and take in the beauty of the Hudson River. There are three main trails of different lengths and the trails are well marked. The small parking lot holds about 10 cars.

Judy Moore: Beautiful river side park. Perfect for anyone wanting to w joy beautiful grounds. There are 4 pavilions. We had the largest for a wedding reception. Complete with a kitchen, sink, refrigerator and counter space, no stove. Very clean and spacious. It was nice to have full handicap bathrooms right off the main pavilion. They were very clean and stocked. The ground’s keepers were amazing and were working the whole time evening emptying the trash for us. I used to go here as kid and will be going back. What a treasure this place is.

R C: I parked on Morey Hill Rd I walked for about two and a half hours. Through the quarries and over the broken shatters of bluestone. Lots of wintergreen berries! Highly recommend finding this little treasure for a nice and geologically fascinating wander
