Maplewood Park - Rochester (NY)

3 /5 April: Maplewood Park is past its prime, but it was a nice option near work to have lunch. Most people stayed in their cars, even though the weather was nice. There were people working on the grounds to get ready for the late Spring/Summer season. Personally, I would not go there at night. Its a rather secluded location right in the middle of a busy area. I dont feel its the safest park in Rochester, but not the most dangerous by far.

5 /5 Xavier Hamilton: Easy parking and a nice trail along the river with pedestrian bridges and views of the lower and middle falls.

5 /5 Feng Zhao: Maplewood Park is a hidden gem that offers a delightful escape into natures embrace. When you drive into the park, on the left side is the rose garden that is being built. The lush maple trees along the park path bring a cool breeze in June and summer. Along the road, you can see the low and middle waterfalls of the genesee river. There is also a place where four pillars are carved. A variety of facial expressions surround a stool called Forgiving and Remembering (Seat of forgiving and Remembering). Autumn should be a breath taking trail for an unforgettable experience.

3 /5 Chris Kuntz: The rose garden is a waste of good soil. Scrawny little rose bushes with hardly any blooms. You can see the river and falls, barely. It would be infinitely better with only some minimal trimming of some foliage. Portable bathrooms are disgusting and not attended to.

5 /5 Lisa Mistretta: Beautiful rose garden to visit when summer rolls around. Very easy to access and free. I would recommend not wearing sandals as you may be walking through the grass.
