5 /5 Mike Z: Sky Top Tower is a memorial to Mohonk Mountain House’s founder Albert Smiley. Its profile is visible many miles away including Minnewaska State Park. Multiple ways to hike to the tower via Sky Top Road, Sky Top Path or most challenging one through Labyrinth and Crevice. Views from the observation deck are best in the area, especially on sunny clear days.

The present tower was completed in 1923 as a memorial to the founder of Mohonk Mountain House, Albert K. Smiley, who died in 1912. Sky top tower build of stone stands at 1,542 feet above sea level.

5 /5 David von Doehren: Excellent hike on well maintained gravel trail. Well marked with signs at intersections. You can go in and up the tower at the top. Bathrooms at the bottom with Porta potty at top.

Alexandra Thorne: Love this place! Has basketball court. Beach can be walked on when the tide is low. Small playground and a pavilion. Beautiful view of the lighthouse tho!

M. S.: Usually a big park enthusiast, but there isnt much to recommend this park. I would go so far as to say that this is better off just left as wilderness. Not very pretty.

Jayne Mann: I am shocked the way this has gone downhill over the last couple years. Dirty built up along the floors - no BB nets complete - foam jumping areas the foam is all broken up. Kids getting pieces in their eyes. The jumping areas large blocks is all missing where little ones would pick the white stuff off. Very discouraging to see a place that was great.

Brianna Rommé: Beautiful falls from the mills, but the gate to the island access was closed. Im not sure if it was seasonal or permanent. Definitely worth a quick visit for the views and history lesson from the photo boards on location.

Six Flags Great Escape - Queensbury

Michael Guynn: In the summer, this park may have 4 or 5 star potential. But on a Saturday in late May, with many attractions closed, low staff causing sluggish operations, and generally abysmal food options (typical for Six Flags Properties), this park sits at a solid "okay". Its not a bad place to spend an afternoon, though - but that is all youll need to experience it all. I did appreciate some theming, especially in the Ghost Town area. Theres a bit of history on display which makes the park feel more "quaint" than "small". Check it out if youre in the area but I wouldnt prioritize it over the other New England options.

Pirates Cove Adventure Golf of Queensbury, NY - Queensbury

Alissa DeMayo: The scenery was beautiful and the theme is fun for a mini golf course. I did the captains course, and I will say for an easier one, it was pretty challenging. If you dont want to feel rushed, I heavily recommend coming around opening when it is less busy. Also, $13 a person was a great deal for 18 fun holes.

Alicia Vaillancourt: The security lady yelled at us for no reason When it was time to take a group photo she came to yelled at us like 2 times bc first we didn’t know about the sign we saw it and got a ff quickly and then she came to well and second time bc without doing it on purpose we step on the flowers and she yelled no respect honestly when I was about to go on the zip line she said no STANDING like 2 times I was like but I’m going to sit before doing it, she just chipped and sight and left like whatever She’s too much but otherwise great place

Adirondack Zombie Hunters LLC - Queensbury

Annie Brickey: This was well worth the cost. We thought we signed up to play a video game but ended up getting a whole lesson in pistol handling and shooting. I’d absolutely recommend this for anyone of any ability. To say the staff was knowledgeable would be a huge understatement. It was a really great family experience and if we are ever in the area again it will be on our must do list. The stuff really took the time to make sure each and everyone of us was having a good time and were comfortable playing the game.

Coles Woods - Queensbury

Roonie Toonie: Local legends says Bigfoot was spotted multiple times in these woods behind aviation mall. The elusive, prehistoric creature is said to frequent portions of upstate NY, and this location called “Coles Woods” is one of the hot spots of sightings.. I came here on a 30 day expedition to look for Bigfoot in upstate NY, or any traces of the elusive creature. Full of expectation and excitement, I arrived at the entrance of coles woods with my backpack, flashlight, binoculars, and heat sensing goggles. It was cold and the air was crisp, the perfect weather for Bigfoot, as he loves the crisp air. I started my hike after a small lunch at aviation mall, and sought out big foot. It was near evening, when bigfoot is most active. I trekked the frequently traveled trails, and the night grew and darkness was setting in. I heard a crackle in the woods behind me, and I looked quick with astonishment, but only to see it was 4 chipmunks chasing one another around along the stump of an old tree. So I kept looking.. I saw squirrels, chipmunks, a deer, and birds while on my expedition. But no Bigfoot. After 15 minutes of looking, I left the woods and went to the nearby Starbucks for a maple pecan latte. I was defeated. Local legend could be wrong, Bigfoot is not in these woods. Or he was just hiding on this cold, crisp and eerie fall day. Good spot for a walk.
