Quiet Cove Riverfront Park - Poughkeepsie

Ed Tubridy: I was in town for a quick visit and I wanted to see the Hudson River up close. This is a great place to do it. It’s dog friendly and I met some local people just hanging out and they told me it used to be an insane asylum. The most excellent experience.

Serendipitously, many of these murals were commissioned in 2018, shortly after I got back from visiting Los Angeles, California, the American capital of street art that isnt considered graffiti. As far as coincidences go, I think thats pretty cool!

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.: Though Im not a born Poughkeepsiean, a few years ago I predicted its old nickname "Queen City" would make a comeback. No disrespect to private companies who use that term, but this piece of public art pretty much makes it more "official!"

Lights On Six - Poughkeepsie

Andrew G: Very enjoyable. Its a single small home with a good Christmas light and decorations. When you arrive you tune into FM Radio 87.9 and the music there is coordinated to the lights on the house and yard. It was very enjoyable, its on a small road off of Route 9 in Poughkeepsie. Good for pictures and videos with the family, and its convenient that you stay in the car. You can park close, and then U-turn and see it from the other side of the street. There is a donation box for items to go to the ASPCA out front if you wish to donate, but otherwise, it is free to visit. A nice, fun evening and you can play the music in your car as loud or quiet as you wish.

Matthew: Great information and fun facts to see along the beautiful Dutchess Rail Trail. If youre heading here from the Hopewell Junction Depot its about 8.5 miles. This is also a nice place to get into the trail whether youre going North towards the Walkway over the Hudson or South towards Hopewell Junction.
