Battle of White Plains Park - White Plains Rob Cooke: Fine spot for history buffs to take a breather. During the revolutionary war, Colonials held the high ground above the Bronx River, the British army forded the river and flanked Gen. Washingstons minutemen. The Americans retreated along the road to Connecticut thru White Plains over three days. Battle Park has plaques placed in the park recalling the order of battle, it is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The memorial cannon is below the hill on the entrance ramp to the Bx River Pkway.
Percy Grainger House - White Plains Duncan Appleby: I only found out that Graingers house was here 3 days before I came to visit a friend in White Plains. The secretary of the Grainger society gave me a personal tour and - amazingly - invited me to play the piano! I enjoyed the visit, despite the cold (they leave the heat off in winter). I hope to be back some day, better prepared and in warmer weather!
Druss Park - White Plains Bianca C.: Wonderful park for children in all ages. The playground is very cute and safe, the flooring is rubber and it’s excellent choice fir kids if they fall down. Nice trees, looks even more beautiful in the Spring.
Kensico Dam Plaza - Valhalla Safiya Faustin: Whether youre there with kids, your dog, or just adults, this is a great place for a walk, playground, or beautiful photos. Walk around the quad, climb the nearly 200 stairs up the dam, walk across, or go for a hike further in. There is so much to pique a curious spirit.

Nature Center at Greenburgh - Scarsdale Saranya: A wonderful place for kids and nature lovers! The kids really enjoyed the hands-on experience—especially seeing the tortoise, rat snake, birds, owl, and other reptiles up close.
There’s a peaceful nature walk. enjoyed the fresh air. Its a great place for a family picnic too—lots of space and shade. Everything is well-maintained.
