5 /5 T G: For my queer, trans, and all other LGBTQIA+ folx, book your appointment. I had the pleasure of going to Rose Hair & Healing yesterday to get a haircut. It could not have been a better experience. She gave me exactly what I wanted, asked my pronouns, involved my mom that came with me, checked in multiple times, and even checked that I was okay sensory wise (Im autistic but didnt disclose that, which tells me she likely asks everyone). This is the first time Ive gotten a haircut where I got exactly what I asked for. I traveled an hour and paid more than I usually would have, and Ill continue doing that from now on. 10/10 cannot recommend enough. Also she doesnt have gendered haircuts which was a big draw for me, she has 1 price for clipper cuts and 1 for haircuts. This was by far the most gender affirming haircut Ive ever gotten.

5 /5 Laura K: Ive been seeing Amy for almost 10 years and love her! I have very thick hair with some challenging cowlicks. Shes always up to the task! Ive come to realize that I need to work with my hairs quirks and I discuss with her what doesnt work or what I dont like and she works around that. I bring inspiration pics as a guide but I trust her to be creative. I decided in 2015 to stop dying my hair (myself) due to resistant grey’s and let it grow out. I don’t like my natural color and decided highlight would be a good transition from my darker hair to the grey and bring out a bit of the blond from childhood. She does a beautiful job! Shes a sweetheart and Im so glad to have found her! Shes not currently in a traditional salon space so she doesnt have a fancy coffee machine or the like but its quiet and there are very few people to come in contact with (if thats a plus for you). Although shes in downtown Troy near the monument, Ive never had an issue finding parking (I dont go on Saturdays during the farmers market).

5 /5 Alyssa Schaedler: Amy is fantastic. Not only is she personable, but my hair looked great for 2+ days after a quick morning blowout. Her studio at Bar Beauty @ Co. is very comfortable, and I enjoyed the products she used. Ill definitely be recommending her to my friends!
