Schmul Park - Staten Island (NY)

4 /5 Mike Z: The park was renovated few years ago as part of North Park gateway work (it is one of 2 official entrances to Freshkills North Park). It has basketball court, baseball field, playground and comfort station. Only street parking is available.

4 /5 Aline Park: Great playground for babies who are learning to walk as the floor is padded. There is lots of space for wandering babies. And the fences keep the babies enclosed so I dont have to worry about baby running out of the park. But the floors to need repair as the foam is coming apart. Otherwise its a great playground. One of my favorite.

1 /5 Linda Ditta: The old park was a whole lot nicer. A lot more swings, sprinklers, slides, etc., and a lot nicer looking. The rubber that they put down on the ground in this new updated Park version its falling apart and breaking apart in pieces. I cant imagine that it is safe for children who are rolling around and may stick the pieces in their mouth. I almost twisted my ankle going into the small swing area because the ground is not even anymore. I dont know what the material is and I dont know what they were thinking. This is not a park for kids this is a park for our politicians to Pat themselves on the back, saying what a wonderful thing they did to build this piece of garbage.

1 /5 aziz bahh: Update: It is 2024 and since 2017, when I first noticed, this playground floor rubber is deteriorating and PARKS seems to pay no mind!!! This playground has a rubbery ground covering which I find a very good idea, but it is in very bad shape. I remember I submitted a repair request through 311 app more than 4 years ago and still nothing has been done till today. The covering is deteriorating bit by bit and becoming a hazard for small kids. The first 6 photos show what Im talking about. The black spots are where the covering is gone and showing holes underneath.
