5 /5 Ellen Smatlak: LOTS of reading to do in each display, but if you are interested in evolution, earth science, geology, etc., this museum is fantastic. The info is presented in an easy to understand manner, with many videos, fossils, and 3-D models to support the text. The exhibit space is not huge, but there is a lot to learn packed in the space. On temporary display now (check their website for end date) is a fantastic collection of hand-crafted glass models of invertebrates, on loan from Cornell University. They are biologically accurate and beautiful. Check the museum website--they have quirky hours!

5 /5 Linda Kerridge Karol: Wonderful museum in Seneca Falls, NY. Long before SFNY was know as the home of Womens Rights, it was a center of Industry. Water & Oil Pumps, Fire Engines, Rulers, School & Church Bells, Kitchen Tools and much, much more! Loved wandering through the displays.

Toni Mullen: Mossy Bank is a beautiful place to visit. The playground is well kept and safe. The picnic areas are perfect for small or large get togethers. There are several trails to walk, most are easy for all ages and abilities. The overlook can be accessed by vehicle or foot for great views.

This is a fine location for this boat, museum, and they’re reusing a bit of history in selecting the museum building. I hope all of these old Gold Seal buildings eventually can convert to museum space.

Hallockville Museum Farm - Riverhead

Madelyn Haussner: Wonderful Saturday afternoon tour of this farm & the ancestry of its inhabitants. Learned so much about LI agriculture, history, farming. Met some animals, chilled in the threshing barn. Loved it!

Railroad Museum of Long Island - Riverhead

Nils Paellmann: Small but nice railroad museum, primarily on the surprisingly long history of the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). Displays include two steam locomotives, passenger and other train cars of the LIRR (some of fairly recent vintage), a rideable miniature train, and model train displays. The staff and volunteers were enthusiastic and helpful.

Long Island Aquarium - Riverhead

Andres Ayala: A really interesting place, it seems small but they have a lot of areas and tanks to explore a diverse array of fish and sea life. Unfortunately, because we visited in January, some of the outdoor amenities were not available to visit (some were open, but it was too cold to see). One of the most interesting part of the aquarium was the butterfly display. They had many unique and beautiful butterflies flying around in a habitat which was conducive to their needs. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for something to do with either adults or kids.

Peconic Riverfront Park - Riverhead

Harvey Hensley: Lovely boardwalk and small park. The town provides a well maintained dock, with water, 30 amp electric hookup, and a pumpout station for visiting boaters, right downtown and close to attractions and restaurants. Such a shame more do not use!

The Big Duck - Flanders

Ethan Crain: I love the Big Duck we drove 1 hour 40 minutes to see it, and it was worth it. Some say they were disappointed by its size….its much bigger than a regular duck! I would recommend it to anyone. Hope to come back soon.
