2 /5 Willis Davis: With the nationwide upsurge in implants, I feel I was urged by Dr. Loi to needlessly extract one of my incisors to accommodate a bone graft and subsequent implant. Before I followed through, I had the exact issue with an adjacent incisor. This time, I consulted Skaneateles Dental and Dr. Moran did a difficult crown rather than the extraction/implant or bridge route. It didn’t even need a post for stability. It may last for only a few years, but I’m much happier with the crown as opposed to the partial plate I’m stuck with now. And, I have choices in case I need them. If I can offer even a tidbit of advice, do everything you can to explore alternatives to extracting a salvageable tooth. You retain the option whereas extraction eliminates a sometimes viable choice at a far less cost.
