5 /5 Jim Joyce: On August 20, 2014, I was traveling through the Syracuse area when my car started leaking fluid during a gas refill. I was referred to Spicers by an area merchant because they were known to be reliable and nearby. They quickly diagnosed that my car needed a new water pump. It was near the end of the day and my family was facing being stranded without a car while repairs were made. The management and mechanics at Spicers were extremely helpful. A mechanic stayed beyond his normal quitting time to work on my car immediately. The work was performed quickly and at a very reasonable cost. The management even arranged to drive my family to a nearby shopping center while I waited for the car repairs to be completed. I highly recommend Spicers for their professionalism and skills, especially concerning the circumstances my family was facing.

Pete Scida: A great mechanic is like a great hairdresser - once you find one, you stick with them. Thats what Sprague is. These guys do the job right, they are quick, reasonably priced, and most importantly, I trust them. Sean will tell me up front what he thinks about the job and about what it will cost, and he has been right on every time. Recently, we had a problem with our Jeep, so naturally, we took it there. They checked it out and determined that we had to take it to the dealer because Jeep doesnt share their diagnostic tools. Even though they spent time looking at it to try to fix it, they didnt charge me anything. Meanwhile, the dealership wanted to change us 400 bucks to put in a new battery just to see if that was the problem! I could go on, but you get the idea. Dealerships suck, so I thank goodness for these guys. I highly recommend this shop for your automotive needs.

hudson: There is only one place I will take Scarlet, my 3 ton 1979 Ford Bronco Custom show truck. Thats the review: another shop put my gal on the back burner for more than a year and Uptown got me scheduled and out the door within 30 days. They also worked on one of my Mazdas, and they didnt mind at all that it isnt a show car. They gave me fair quotes for really great work, and if you care about attention to detail these folks are your kind of people. Gotta trail to go blaze, yall.

WB: I have been lived in Canandaigua for 10 years and used various car repair services. This is the best I have had. I checked for the oil leak, which I use other service for three times and the still leak. They quickly checked and tighter screws, and told me come back tomorrow if it is still leaking. After two days, no oil spots showing up on the garage at all. Excellent work and no charge. Much appreciated their good service and kind altitude to customer.

Blair Harris: Rare high level hometown type service. I experienced an issue with my trunk latch module on the way to get my oil changed at Finish Line, which seemed to resolve itself. After my oil change the issue returned on my way home. I drove back and asked Brandon if he could take look at it. He worked on it for close to a half hour and refused to take any payment. Friendly, professional and honest. Outstanding service.

It was about 25 minutes before they closed, one of the guys stopped what they were doing to help me out. He had it fixed in 10 minutes and didn’t even charge me for it. I offered to pay twice and he refused to take payment for it, he just did it out of the goodness of his heart and that’s a hard thing to come by nowadays. A major shout out to these guys, I’m definitely going to be doing business with them in the future.

Susan Garber: I was recommended to go to this shop, as I needed a state inspection and oil change, and had a great experience. This is a “Mom & Pop” shop and the couple that owes it are very down to earth people. Their daughter and son-in-law also work there, and everyone was very friendly and personable. They are also very honest and won’t tell you work “needs to be done” on your car that isn’t truly needed. My car currently has an open recall, but I was told by the dealer the parts were in a national shortage. Without even asking, Fox’s looked up, within a 250-mile radius, a search for who might have the part that I needed to see if they could find the part to complete the recall. They also helped explain to me what the recall was about and why it was important. Unfortunately, no one had the part, but I thought it was above and beyond that they checked to begin with and just reflects on their character. I will most definitely be going back.
