Carol Perez Infante: I never thought I’d be writing something like this. The church itself is beautiful and well maintained, but if you’re looking to reconcile with God and find true peace, this is not the place. The younger priest walks around like the big bad wolf, disrupting the peace any time something doesn’t go his way. I strongly suggest he reconsider his calling, because this is clearly not it. His behavior reflects the exact opposite of the compassion and grace a church should embody — and frankly, it’s disturbing. I would assume he’s kinder to people he knows personally or those who follow his every word — but that’s not how a church should operate. It’s no surprise the pews are often empty. For my family, this is now the third time we’ve left this church feeling disheartened and demotivated. What’s most upsetting is the way he treats children. Kids are just beginning to discover their faith, and experiences like this can easily drive them away from the church altogether. A place meant to offer peace and spiritual comfort ended up doing the complete opposite. It breaks my heart to say this, but I feel it’s important for others to know. Kindness, respect, and understanding should be at the core of any religious community — and sadly, they were nowhere to be found here.

Robert Ketterer: The open house for the 100 year old church was like visiting a living museum. The reception was very friendly and they were very proud of their church. The Lutheran church and cemetery are centrally nestled in Harriman State Park. Besides the regular Sunday services at noon, its a favorite venue for weddings and funerals.
