  • Finger Lakes Boating Museum - Hammondsport
    Finger Lakes Boating Museum
Ceecie Bryson: I’m giving this rating based on location and accessibility, staff enthusiasm, thoughtfulness of displays, historical commitment and quality of materials. This is a fine location for this boat, museum, and they’re reusing a bit of history in selecting the museum building. I hope all of these old Gold Seal buildings eventually can convert to museum space.

Gary Rosier: Awesome museum! Tons history on bikes, motorcycles early on and aircraft from the very early days of aviation. The p-40 in restoration shop should not be missed! Its nearly completed!

Madelyn Haussner: Wonderful Saturday afternoon tour of this farm & the ancestry of its inhabitants. Learned so much about LI agriculture, history, farming. Met some animals, chilled in the threshing barn. Loved it!
Railroad Museum of Long Island - Riverhead
    Railroad Museum of Long Island
Nils Paellmann: Small but nice railroad museum, primarily on the surprisingly long history of the Long Island Railroad (LIRR). Displays include two steam locomotives, passenger and other train cars of the LIRR (some of fairly recent vintage), a rideable miniature train, and model train displays. The staff and volunteers were enthusiastic and helpful.
    Long Island Aquarium - Riverhead
    Long Island Aquarium
Andres Ayala: A really interesting place, it seems small but they have a lot of areas and tanks to explore a diverse array of fish and sea life. Unfortunately, because we visited in January, some of the outdoor amenities were not available to visit (some were open, but it was too cold to see). One of the most interesting part of the aquarium was the butterfly display. They had many unique and beautiful butterflies flying around in a habitat which was conducive to their needs. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for something to do with either adults or kids.
    Peconic Riverfront Park - Riverhead

Harvey Hensley: Lovely boardwalk and small park. The town provides a well maintained dock, with water, 30 amp electric hookup, and a pumpout station for visiting boaters, right downtown and close to attractions and restaurants. Such a shame more do not use!
    The Big Duck - Flanders
    The Big Duck
Ethan Crain: I love the Big Duck we drove 1 hour 40 minutes to see it, and it was worth it. Some say they were disappointed by its size….its much bigger than a regular duck! I would recommend it to anyone. Hope to come back soon.

Splish Splash Water Park - Calverton

Authentically Bazile: Im back with another review! Today, I want to share my experience at Splash Splash Water Park. To be honest, I havent visited this place since I was a kid, and I can see why. If youre not a fan of crowds, you might want to think twice before coming here. The park is usually packed, no matter what day you choose to visit. That said, the little ones had a blast in the toddler area. Make sure to arrive early, as finding a seat can be a challenge. I also recommend renting a locker to stash your valuables. Its a tap-and-pay park, so your phone will be perfectly safe. Dont forget to bring sunscreen because the sun can be relentless! One thing I appreciated was the ample staff presence, which made me feel my kids were well looked after. However, the food options left much to be desired. Bring your own sandwiches, food is overpriced and not tasty at all; the only decent choice was the pizza. The lines for other attractions were ridiculously long, and combined with the heat, waiting felt like an eternity. I attempted to wait in a few lines but quickly changed my mind. As for souvenirs, I would skip those entirely; theyre overpriced and not worth your hard-earned money. This park is definitely for kids who dont mind being in crowded spaces and have a bit of survival instinct because, lets be honest, they wont care whos in their path. I think I lost about 8.5 pounds just trying to keep up with my energetic toddlers. Parking was a nightmare, but I was grateful for handicap parking; it really saved me from circling around for ages. Overall, I’d give this place a 3 out of 5. If you decide to visit, just be prepared for the crowds—it’s pretty gentrified if you’re curious.
