5 /5 Joseph Johnson: Nice little park for a quick walk or bike ride. Its a loop, so you can go around in circles if you wish. There are lots of picnic areas, and a few water access. Most of them are well maintained, though one fell apart over the years. Its expanded, with additional paths leading into town, and connecting to the Black River trail for a twelve mile round trip if youre up for it. Waterworks itself though is a small trail, but a nice one. We walk it about once a week.
Disclaimer: Some of the Watertown homeless population sets up camp here from time to time. Do not go here, or any park really, at night. The city does its best to keep it clean and safe, and not a camping ground. However, there will be times you might find something you dont like. I never have, but I know it because I live in this town that it happens. It is safe though, and in more recent years has stayed cleaned up nicely. If you bring children, like I do, just keep an eye so they dont pick up something. This can happen with any park or trail though. From a Watertown resident I can tell you its been much better maintained the last few years.
