1 /5 Ashley No: I’ve never bought anything from Urban Outfitters before because it always felt overpriced compared to similar items you can find elsewhere, but I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience confirmed why I usually skip this store. While trying on a pair of cuffed sweatpants, my friend came into the fitting room to give me her opinion. I mentioned that the cut made me look a little rectangular, and the fitting-room employee suggested I try a wide-leg option. When I said that style wasn’t really my preference, she seemed visibly offended and her tone immediately shifted. It made me feel uncomfortable and rushed when I was simply trying to decide whether to buy the pants. Later, my friend was trying on clothes and I stepped into her room again. She was still shirtless when another employee suddenly started knocking, saying the second person had to leave. We explained she just needed a moment to put a shirt back on, but the employee kept rushing us and claimed the first worker had already asked us “several times,” which wasn’t true — we hadn’t heard anything. The attitude from both employees felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Overall, the environment was uncomfortable, the staff was rude, and the whole experience made me even more certain that this store isn’t worth the high prices. I can find almost everything they sell somewhere else for cheaper, without dealing with unpleasant interactions like this.

1 /5 Terrence Walker: I was profiled by the workers…. Don’t shop at this store if you are a man. I am a middle aged man who loves collecting vinyl records and wanted to check out the Urban outfitters at the Walden galleria. Upon arrival I made my way to record section at the back of the store. Everything was fine as I dug through the sparsely stocked record shelves Until, out of nowhere, another person, who I initially assumed was just another customer, started browsing across from me. They rummaged through the records for a bit, and I thought they were another music nerd like me. But I quickly noticed that they kept looking up every ten seconds, watching what I was doing. I brushed it off at first, thinking maybe it’s unusual for an older man to be browsing in a hip, trendy store like this. I finished flipping through the sparse record selection and, after not finding anything I wanted, started making my way through the confusing store layout toward the front. I accidentally walked through the checkout area and realized that the same person who had been browsing across from me was now behind the counter, they were an employee. I won’t assume pronouns, but they appeared feminine, so I’ll say she/they. They had badly done, boxdyed red hair in braids. I only mention this because of what happened next. As I walked past, I clearly heard them say, “That was the weirdo right there.” I was shocked. My stomach dropped. I shot them a glare and walked out, but I left feeling furious and humiliated. I was treated like a creep simply because of my gender. I am completely offended by the way I was profiled and disrespected in this store. I will continue to support Newbury Comics upstairs, where I’ve always been treated with genuine respect and inclusivity. Urban Outfitters needs to do better, and I hope that trendy she/they girl learns not to judge a book by its cover, especially when that book doesn’t fit her narrow idea of what’s “normal.”

1 /5 Zannatul Nayem: Very poor customer service. Employees do not greet nor offer a friendly atmosphere as theyre more engaged in conversations with fellow employees. The clothes here are also very overpriced. I wouldnt shop here again unfortunately.

1 /5 Wyatt Yarnell: The employees were all on their phones and openly talking about the recent shooting of Charlie Kirk. Very inappropriate for the workplace.

5 /5 Gianna Halo: Employees were very friendly. A nice change in comparison to other stores in this mall where employees can be so dismissive. The one manager, Nicole, was very helpful in finding me options for a dress to wear to a wedding. A very nice atmosphere, will be returning!
