Melissa Greenberg I have been going to Blue Velvet Salon for 4 years now and I have never been disappointed. Christie is the best she always exceeds my expectations no matter what I ask for she always delivers. I always leave loving my hair. Everyone in the salon is amazing they make your time getting pampered amazing. I love everyone in this salon and would highly recommend any services they provide. I personally only go here for all my beauty needs.

Christine Alicea I made an appointment to get my tattoo removed. The girl failed to tell me that they relocated upon me arriving to their old location, rescheduled for the following day and Supposedly the machine didn’t work and they had to send it in and that they would call me to reschedule. I contacted them twice regarding rescheduling the appointment and the second time they never got back to me. I found it very unprofessional.

Tia Maria Palau Went here for a facial by Jill it was so relaxing. The extractions being done by hand was very sanitary and clean. I feel my pores are clear and my skin is glowing! Already booked my next appointment can’t wait.

hot wing boy i’m disgusted with what michael did to my hair he degraded me into getting a haircut after i went back and forth with him about not wanting to do it i had surgery that caused me to not be able to wash my hair myself so i booked an appointment for only a wash and style michael pressured me during a very vulnerable time by degrading my hair calling it shoddy saying bad things about the dye job and getting his coworker to join in making me feel even more insecure than i have been feeling since surgery i left the salon feeling good obviously because i just finally had my hair washed after not being physically and mentally ready enough to book an appointment to do so but after the poorly done curls he did fell out i realized what a terrible haircut i had and how much hair he chopped off the other reviewers are right michael is a rat he cut so much of my hair off after i asked him for only a light trim and it’s super choppy i want to cry and throw up from how bad it looks this was one of my biggest fears come true i haven’t worn my hair down since the haircut i can’t believe this happened to me

My hair is not easy to do and I have tried many places on Staten Island, and let me tell you that I am a lucky girl to have found him! So happy and my hair always looks healthy and shiny! On top of that his staff is super nice and friendly. I also had a facial with Ella and it was perfection!!

Jenny Leung Michael is a rat he burnt my scalp tugged my hair as if it was some toy. He gave me a very rude attitude. And double charged me for highlights cause I wanted more. For a few highlights gives me a horrible price. He also saw me as a business money opportunity because my hair was plain

The salon itself is clean, bright, and has a relaxing atmosphere. My technician, Alvarad, was incredibly skilled and took their time to ensure my manicure and pedicure were perfect. They paid close attention to detail and offered great suggestions for colors and nail art. The tools were all sanitized, which I really appreciated. Paige Smith This girl got a GIFT! Cut my hair in a way that can be worn straight or curly (which I thought was unheard of). I was also never able to grow my hair pass a certain point in the past until I started going to Haus of Imprints. Very professional and has you in and out while maintaining quality of her craft. Book with Haus of Imprints. You will not regret it!

Nia Sanai I have been coming to Haus of Imprints since August, and Zanaysia is one of the best to do it. Not only is she professional, but shes personable and always makes sure her clients feel comfortable and happy with their service. One of the things I love most about coming her is that she truly cares about hair care. She has always made sure I was making smart decisions to keep my hair healthy, especially after coloring it for the first time, and you dont see that a lot anymore in hair stylists. I wouldnt recommend anyone else but her! Definitely worth the drive! :)

Shee Yesterday was my first time coming here and I had a beautiful experience. I was really afraid to try a new salon especially since I was dying my hair a really bright color . Josefina did an amazing job on my hair and made me feel very comfortable. Her salon is very homey , she offered me coffee and fruit. The prices are unbeatable for the quality of work she does. Margo M I am in NY helping a family member after a death in the family. We had a special event honoring my uncle and was looking a place to get a blowout. When placing a call to the salon to ask for a price and if I needed an appointment for a blowout, the lady was a bit hard to understand. I was able to make an appointment with a small adjustment to my requested time. The salon was clean and the lady who did my hair was very nice. Easy transaction to pay and I was out the door in 25 min.

Lei Gyal When I tell you Lola did her thing with my daughter braids y’all better believe me. My daughter was very happy with her hair. Medium/large knotless waist length braids done in 2 hours. Where else are you going to get the perfect service without waiting all day???? The price was absolutely amazing with the hair included and a free gift bag. As soon as we got there Lola got to work. Thank you Lola, we will be returning.

Dominique Goode I have been using tlolah beauty braiding services for almost 3 years and Ive havent been disappointed. She is efficient and always on time. Shes always willing to work around your timing schedule. My styles are always neat, precise, and long lasting. The most important thing for me is my hair is never pulled too tight just so the style can look neat. Ive had my 10 year old daughters hair done here also and theres never a complaint.

Samiha Zaman I had a wash and haircut from their place few days ago. Firstly, I would say she is nice, but the thing is she didnt ask me clearly what I wanted to do until I told her. So, I told her that I want a wash and shape my hair as it is. Choosing hair wash was the bad idea because she did a very hard massage on my hair it was good until I got water in my ears. That part was okay too but when it comes to cut, she cut my hair and didnt ask me if I want to cut more. Then I saw and asked her to cut a bit shorter. She agreed and cut it short. When I came home, I found some of hair were cut unevenly. Not all the portion but some edges. She charged me $30 that I found quite fair. I also wanted a bangs trim but thankfully I stick to my previous haircut otherwise she might ruin it all. I need to fix my hair again by myself. I would never go to their place just to waste money and ruin good hair.

She kept looking me up and down as if the sweats I was wearing were not enough for her little corner salon. Very rude. First impressions are important, and the lady gave me a very bad one.

Elizabeth Porto I recently hosted a spa party at AF Bennett for my daughter’s 10th birthday party. We were overjoyed at the effort the staff made to make my daughter’s day special. The decorations were spectacular! The room was breathtaking. The technicians were so friendly. Everyone went out of their way to make my daughter and her friends feel comfortable and special. They had a great time and were talking about the party for days after. I couldn’t be more pleased with the day. Thank you A.F. Bennett!

Michelle Lauren I was not planning to review but AF Bennett keeps texting to ask me to schedule an appointment so here is why I am not. I have had some great experiences in the past however on my last visit for a hot stone massage, the masseuse was rough at best making the experience not only uncomfortable but downright painful at points. I asked her multiple times to lighten the pressure and even told her she was hurting me. At one point she pulled my leg up beside my head to “stretch” me and plugged my nose. I mentioned this at check out and they told me without sympathy “yeah she does deep tissue massages people really like that”. Except I was not there for a deep tissue, just a relaxing hot stone massage. They gave me $10 off my purchase which was highly insufficient. This is why I have not booked again. They do not take care of their clients appropriately. Do not recommend.

Musayeroh Bah I went to this hair salon a year ago and forgot to give a review because I was so upset that day... The first time, they gave me a good blow dry, but the second time I went, I asked them to wash my thick type 4c hair and the lady did it, but when I went home I instantly saw that it was just as dirty at the bottom as when I came in. I was so sad because I had given the lady (she was short and had ginger hair if I remember correctly) a tip too. I havent and wont be coming back here again, maybe they do well with other hair types but hair salons should be able to manage all hair types and textures.

Love this place and on top of that they have a hair braider named Aisha, I like to braid my hair here & there, she braids my hair so good & she’s so nice & friendly, so I go to her and when I’m going to blow out my hair I go to the Dominica ladies. Overall I’m satisfied with their services.

Talitha Baez I called ahead of time and asked how much to braid my hair so I can install my own crochet hair. I just needed her to braid my hair straight back in cornrows. I ask her if I need to bring hair she says "NO I will supply the hair because its only a small amount to braid your hair straight back like that."She tells me $40.00. I said to her cool Im on my way. I take an UBER to her place of business. She has the front door locked and I have to wait to be let in. I get in I say hi I just called you about you braiding my hair straight back so I can install crochet hair. After I have paid for an UBER got prices from her told her Im on my way she said ok. She then says oh I only do appointments. You must make an appointment. This after I spoke with her on the phone went over the price over EVERYTHING. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!! WASTED MY TIME!!!! I would give minus 8 stars for that. No one has money to waste. I dont recommend doing business with someone who doesnt know how to do business. If I call your place of business and ask you prices and discuss with you what I am expecting done. If you only do appointments YOU as the business owner who is SPEAKING to the customer asking for service over the phone should say at some point that YOU ONLY TAKE APPOINTMENTS!!!!! ESPECIALLY WHEN I SAID OK COOL I WILL BE TO YOU SHORTLY!! YOU ARE VERY UNPROFESSIONAL MS.NINA!!!!

Kristen Rodriguez I’ve only been 2x as a recommendation from a friend, and by far it is one of the best Dominican salons on Staten Island. Everyone is sweet and professional, and even on a busy day you won’t be waiting all day to be washed or blow dried. Definitely will be coming on a regular basis ❤️

Temi Akeju I got a wash and some cornrows, it’s hard finding somewhere that can wash blow dry and cornrow 4c hair. They did so well and I was only there for less than a few hours. I’ll definitely be coming back

Tatiana Ransom The owner was the only one doing her. And I think her mom was the hair washer and stuff. Let me just say business is GREAT! She was fast and did 10 people hair and had them out there the door looking AMAZING! She did not turn us a way or anything she handled her business very well and I love that! Lucy does her thing and recommend her salon. She did my hair, my sisters hair and my daughter. She doesn’t keep stopping for breaks she handle her business first. She is A POWER WOMEN ! I will come to her often ❤️❤️❤️. She work on ALL hair types and not once did she make a unpleasant face towards someone’s hair. She could do it all.
