TMPL - Hells Kitchen - New York Jimbo Baggins: tmpl Hells kitchen, without a doubt, the best gym experience I have ever had, and it’s the perfect fitness sanctuary right here in Hells Kitchen. It doesn’t feel like a gym; it feels like an exclusive, high-tech wellness center. From the stunning, modern design to the mood lighting, the atmosphere is genuinely motivating.
The equipment is absolutely top-of-the-line, meticulously maintained, and there is an incredible volume and variety of machines—I have never had to wait for a squat rack or a cardio machine, even during the evening rush. They have dedicated zones for every kind of training imaginable.
The real differentiator, though, is the full-sized indoor saltwater pool. Having an Olympic-style lane pool in the middle of Manhattan is a luxury that makes the membership worth it alone. The locker rooms are equally premium—spotless, spacious, and equipped with great amenities.
The staff and trainers are consistently professional, welcoming, and helpful. If you’re looking to truly invest in a premium, results-driven health experience in NYC, tmpl is the gold standard and easily earns my five-star recommendation!
Crunch Fitness - 34th Street - New York Anthony: Worst customer service outside of the trainers/front desk staff. I was a member at this gym and left because of poor communication when my membership was canceled without my consent or request. I was told that it was canceled by "email." Even though I never canceled it. I spoke with Grant who was helpful, but as for the manager, had me waiting there for an hour. I reached out to the manager, Pauline, via email and requested a credit. She replied that this was an error and a credit would be applied for the mistake. I never received this credit. I followed up for MONTHS via email with no response. Once I emailed that I would like to cancel, they canceled my membership the next day with no response. This gym also raises their price every year with very little to no improvement in the facilty.
