Tracy Hunter The check in process was quick and efficient. The guard greeted us with a smile. The health care facility was well lit. The floors were clean. The signs that were posted out front requesting visitors not to feed the birds and animals was quite unique. I had never seen a facility make this respectful request. I think it is a great idea . My visit with my friend was quite pleasant.. I am praying that she get the best possible care and a speedy recovery. Thank you kindly.

Dianne Vulcano Dr. Leykina is an exceptional endocrinologist who consistently provides outstanding care. She is incredibly patient, knowledgeable and takes the time to address my concerns with a clear explanation. I feel very confident in her expertise and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top notch doctor.

Joan Coiro Been going there for a few years it was convenient to where I lived. The receptionist behind the desk, was very polite I never had to wait that long and my nurse practitioner Michelle McMurray gave her a 10 she’s excellent at her job and one who listens which is very rare today. And if she is not in, I’ve seen other doctors and find them all to be excellent. 1058 Forest Ave if you want to see a good doctor or NP thats where you want to go.

Raymond Elsayed Complete violation of all HIPAA regulations, complete disregard for patient and visitor comfort by being told to wait in the parking lot. EMTs using wrong entrances and getting aggravated at visitors and patients waiting in the parking lot extremely unprofessional.

I would never recommend this location but highly recommend the doctors. You may try to see their doctors in other locations if they have clinics elsewhere.

Mary Bratti BEWARE OF SIUH SOUTH!!!!!!!!!!I’ve never once complained on Facebook or online about any business or anything… But I was just released from SIUH SOUTH and let me tell you…. The worst experience of my life. I was in for diverticulitis which is extremely painful. I was admitted for strong IV antibiotics. 2 out of 4 nurses I had were miserable horrible people who shouldn’t even work with animals. I felt like I was there to be experimented on!!! I was literally on the floor in the bathroom in extreme pain and pulls the nurse button and was kicking in the door while the nurse is in the room with the other patient explaining how to use the TV and told me to wait!!!!!!!!!!

Mary Salvatore Very professional and caring. Was given private rooms, a lot of Covid cases. The parking was difficult and small. However, there was a leak from windows on the 4th floor room. Cafeteria was clean with a variety of foods to choose from.

Kenneth Dennis Make sure you don’t make late appointments on nice summer days. They’ll shoo you away with some nonsense, even though you’ve waited a month for an appointment. Not even willing to help or solve their own issues. Seems they’re more concerned with getting home to their boxes of wine. This is what happens when you dub people “heroes” for merely doing their jobs (which they’re paid handsomely for, by the way). Seems like all the baseless adulation has gone to their heads. Shameful.

Mari Del I rushed myself to the ER on August 5th, a day before my birthday due to lower abdominal pains. The staff, nurses and doctors were very kind, warm and hospitable. They attended as soon as they can. I am so glad that i went here and not the other hospital in the island. Good job to you guys! To the SIUH Staff that night, Nurse Ryan, Michael and everyone else. Sorry if i cant remember everyone. But you guys did the best job!

Katherine Scott Probably one of the worst family member experiences Ive had. My mother is a patient here (im her proxy) I called her unit. Operator had an attitude and stated "I need to spell her name" I spelt is slowly and calmly 3x times. She blind transferred me, I called back and she said she couldnt find that person. Then she quickly said her room number and transferred me to the operator. She did not tell me what building or unit or anything. Then the next operator told me she was moved to a cancer unit (frantic because I never got a call she was getting transferred) I asked for the nursing unit number and he refused to give it to me. He transferred me to a nurse who then starting rambling off patient information about ANOTHER PATIENT. I had to interject and thats when she mentioned the unit isnt just oncology, its med surge as well. So you can imagine the fear when I called and heard that from the operator right???? then I started asking the nurse questions about why she was transferred, how is she doing etc she responded "I dont know any of those things" so then I responded... "can you look it up?" and she said "yeah umm give me a second" ... I patiently waited and it turned out she was fine. Nothing was communicated to me that she was bring moved, or why she was getting transferred. No transparency, no professionalism. The previous unit she was on THE CHARGE NURSE started reading me another patient information and then decided halfway through to verify name and DOB AGAIN (I guess she didnt hear me the first time?) Not to mention when her sister went to visit her they had her food tray so far towards the window it was not in reach, so by the time my aunt got there she had her lunch and dinner tray sitting there. You would THINK between the person dropping off the tray, the nurse, PCA/CNA SOMEONE would have noticed she ate nothing???? but instead just put a dinner tray next to an old lunch tray and not take the old one away. I cant wait to get her out of this hospital, if you are looking for compassion, communication or quality care.. its not here.

Yanira Feliciano This hospital is the worst hospital in Staten Island. Their level of care in the ER is a disgrace. Doctors and nurses have no compassion for their patients. Nurses on their cell phones ignoring their patients needs is sad. This hospital needs to be investigated immediately. Neglect is a big issue with this hospital. Avoid at all cost

caryn davis Excellent 13 hour ER experience with nurses, doctors and other staff yesterday. Nothing is perfect anywhere. And, I showed my appreciation to each person I encountered to help make their day go better, too. I also politely and kindly asked for what I needed. And, even sometimes waiting longer than I liked, I did get everything I asked for. My nurse, Martina, is an angel. I was in good hands.

Tahana I can not thank Dr.Ahmed and his amazing team of physicians for helping my 3 year old son feel better after being diagnosed with RSV. He was super gentle with my son who was extremely fussy and was able to treat him and feeling better. They were super fast and up to date with everything. This was one of the best hospitals we’ve been to. From the reception in the front to the security guards, everyone was super friendly and all wished for my son to feel better. Sometimes it’s the little things that really help lift people up. Thank you again Dr.Ahmed and team. We are forever grateful ✨

Huda Batool I had a wonderful experience with them. My newborn had jaundice and then his labs were not satisfactory. Dr. K. McDonough was amazing with explaining everything throughout the process. When my son’s labs were not getting back to normal Dr. McDonough took it upon himself and arranged for immediate appointments with related specialists, he took off so much burden off my shoulders when I was so anxious about my son’s health. It meant a lot, and I’m very grateful.

Michael Mann We had to look for a new pediatrician after our old one dropped our insurance provider. We made an appointment with Dr. Mendez at RUMC medical center. After sitting there for 2 hours and 15 minutes we left. Can’t say anything about her skills as a doctor as she never graced us with her royal appearance. Immediately cancelled my second child’s appointment.

Dr T My name is Dr. T, and I recently had a distressing experience at Richmond Hospitals emergency room with my newborn. Despite being admitted, we were placed in a room outside the hallway, directly in front of the bathroom, where numerous patients walked by, coughing and sneezing. I repeatedly requested a room change from various nurses, but they claimed everyone was in critical condition, and it wasnt possible. When the Physician Assistant (PA) examined my baby, she seemed uninterested and dismissive. I had to ask her to perform basic checks and even request an ice pack, as no one offered assistance. When I inquired about a CT scan, she initially said it wasnt necessary, despite that being the primary reason for our visit. When I asked what she could do for my baby, she replied, Nothing. As I prepared to leave, the PA asked if I wanted a discharge. I requested time to consult with my husband , but when she returned 15-20 minutes later, she refused to let us go. She claimed it was because the room behind us wasnt ready, despite the previous patient having just left and the bed being quickly changed without proper sanitization. When I asked her to sanitize the room, she bluntly said, No, this is emergency room and it is the best we can do. I was scared for not fully vaccinated newborn baby, so I took him home and I watch out for my baby myself. Mom should never go through this. They saw a black woman distressed with her newborn baby I am sure that was their negligence and being racist towards me. I advise everyone to go to the other hospital nearby. My bed image is attached

Juan Rodriguez Do not come here if it’s an emergency. This hospital is understaffed and ill equipped. You can spend days in the ER, waiting to be transferred to a room. I’ve gone three nights so far without being able to shower, bc I do not have access to a proper bathroom. The call button is pointless. The staff is a skeleton crew that is being pulled in every direction. Hours go by before an issue is resolved. I don’t know how the other hospitals on the island are, but stay away from this one. There is a reason why this place has such a low rating.

Allison Awadallah I came here for their urgent care. The receptionist, who took 20 minutes to come out of the back while I waited there, told me there was no urgent care in the building and she was very rude and abrupt… It literally said walk-in clinic on the door and it’s definitely an urgent care center. I have no idea why they would lie, maybe they were busy or something, but I would not go here if you are seeking urgent care.

Jenny Patti Was turned away. They supposedly have a nurse practitioner that works there but she was not there and was told she left at 1pm but I said your hours are till 8pm and the receptionist said yeah and? I am very confused as to why there is a urgi center there if there is no one to see you for an emergency???
