4 /5 Ray Bolden: There are quite a few spots to check out on this block, but 225 Warren is definitely a solid choice if you’re looking for a casual, comfortable place to grab drinks and a bite. They’ve got a mix of bar seating, booths, and room for larger groups.
I sampled a few things from the menu during my visit. The fries were tasty and came in an adequate portion size for a starter—nothing over the top, but they got the job done. The calamari was okay. Let’s be honest: this isn’t a seafood restaurant, so expectations should be managed accordingly. That said, the marinara sauce was a good addition.
My least favorite item was the mac & cheese bites. I think the issue was more with the mac & cheese itself than the fact that it was fried. On the other hand, the mozzarella sticks were really well done and crispy.
The cauliflower wings are a good option. They’re not huge like other restaurants. They’re more like bite-size cauliflower balls. They definitely don’t taste like chicken, but it’s still a nice substitute for a veggie option.
One thing Im not thrilled about is the added credit card fee and the fact that gratuity is included in the pricing. Its just something to be aware of when you get the bill. It can feel a bit sneaky if you’re not expecting it.
