4 /5 Ashlyn Koga: My friend and I went to Palm Street around 5pm on a Wednesday. The interior has a cute and classy ambiance with fake palm trees throughout with mood lighting. You may need a reservation if youre dining at a later time, but it was not necessary for 5pm.
It happened to be the first night they were debuting a new special menu (I procrastinated on writing a review). So, my friend and I both got the braised beef noodle soup ($19). Pricing is pretty good for the area! The noodles were the perfect texture and consistency, and the beef was cooked well. However, I wanted more flavor in the broth. It had a natural beef flavor, but for the first time in my life, I elected to add chili oil to the soup because I needed more flavor! I think I went in expecting more of a laksa-type broth, so the mild flavor was a miss.
Service was phenomenal. There were so many check-backs, water refilling, etc. At one point, my friend sipped water and it went down the wrong pipe. I swear every front-of-house staff came in to check-in on us. I would return to try another dish because the staff was so welcoming!
