Nathaniel Edsall My 2011 Silverado had some rust holes around the fuel tank. Al welded in two new cross members, and a rust buster patch panel. The welds are excellent quality, and the work was completed on schedule. I appreciate that I was sent pictures documenting all that was found, it’s a very transparent practice. I am very pleased with the results.

Jonathan S. These guys are awesome. I had bunch of suspension work and a lift installed on my Subaru Forester - struct/shock replacement, new control arms installation, new toe arms installation etc. This was one of the few places around Ithaca that allowed me to purchase the parts I wanted. Their labor rates are totally reasonable and the work is good. Additionally, these guys are some of the nicest and most genuine individuals I’ve interacted with for car service and just in general. I had a few questions about installing the lift on my Subaru that they were able to help me out with quickly, they were flexible with scheduling, and just so friendly on the phone and in person. It is so obvious that they enjoy what they do. 10/10 totally recommend.

Ben Bassett These guys have been consistently good. At my old job we took our work vehicles to Goodyear in Syracuse, and they were also good. Goodyear 6 month financing lets you space out payments. Ive gone to the Ithaca location several times, and they seem about as honest as big company mechanics can be. Not saying theyre perfect, but overall a positive experience

Noah Risley Would like to give a half star or 0 if I could. I made an appointment online, and then was told when I called the next morning that I actually hadnt. This, despite receiving a confirmation number, an email confirming that it had been scheduled, and nothing to the contrary. According to the man on the phone, in the small print, it says "Upon confirmation by store clerk" or something. Well it certainly didnt say that when I scheduled, and I couldnt find it after the fact. The man on the phone was very rude and acted like it was absurd I thought I had an appointment for the day. He kept saying that the "online system isnt connected to the store." Very unprofessional, and a ridiculous system.

Tara Machado Maguire Honda has helped me in many ways. When my older Honda Element started to have issues recently, I needed important parts which they ordered for me, and even though they were on backorder, they made sure that they arrived and I was able to get the work done. I also appreciate that each time I have taken my car in to have work done, its always returned to me with the tires spiffed up, and the entire body wiped down, looking shiny and beautiful. I always thought that was the way to take care of customers in the auto business, and they deliver in full. I also was working with Jessica Bond there to find a car and she was so helpful, kind, informative, and someone I could trust. Thank you, Maguire Honda!

Linda LaCroix We were on vacation in the Finger Lakes when our car battery died. We were able to get it jumpstarted and drive to Maguire Honda. My husband explained our situation and they took us in right away. We needed a new battery. After the guy went back to have the new battery put in my husband looked at me and said "This is going to be pricey but it has to be done." When the car was done and the bill was handed to my husband we were pleasantly surprised to see that the battery was a fair price." Thank you Maguire Honda for taking our car in right away and having decent prices on parts and services. P.S. Our car was also run through the car wash!

Javier They are nice but charged me 75 bucks to put my car on the lift and then refuse to work on it. Typically if refusing work you wouldn’t charge as courtesy but oh well. Didn’t diagnose anything either. Complete waste of time and money.

Sarah Jamison They seem like good mechanics but need to work on scheduling! I made a 9:00 appt for an inspection and was told it would be one hour. 5 hours later I’m still waiting…. Apparently it’s one hour from the time it goes into the shop, which who knows when that will be. That was not communicated, I would have made other plans if I’d known.

Margaret Brown I had my car repaired at Winks after getting into an accident because they are an in-network body shop for my insurance carrier. The damages to my car were pretty significant ($10k-12k repair) and Winks made the claim and repair process extremely easy for me. The team that works in the front office (Gina and others) provided outstanding customer service and always kept me updated. I never had to reach out and check on anything, because they always gave me a well-timed update. When I got my car back, it looked and drove like nothing ever happened. Winks also cleaned the interior of my car, which was unexpected but awesome as my kids leave a lot of stuff in my car and it was nice to get my car back in an organized state. Thank you all!

Momo I have a great conversation with the mechanic, but I don’t have much experience with car to begin with and later my friend said it’s a bit overprice. You can decide yourself though, here’s what happened: I went in just to get inspection for AC problem. The mechanic first opened the air filter and since it is dirty I told them to change it. They charged me total of 148$ for changing 1 cabin air filter (29$labor +33.28$part) + for 0.5 h labor for inspection(72.5$) +tax and shop supplies fee(~13$). The 0.5 h was just him driving my car around and diagnosed that it might be power brake booster and quote me at 1.4k$.

David Archung I took my classic car in to be evaluated and given a price for work to be done to bring it up to maximum market price, something he assured me he had the expertise to do. I also needed to have one of the electric windows repaired. The car sat there for at least 6 weeks, half the summer, and was only returned to me after I called several times. The work on the window was shoddy and although he had assured me he had ordered the replacement part, I called the parts suppliers whose name he had requested and I dont believe he ever did order it. He did not provide the promised evaluation. He charged around $200 and when I asked for a receipt, told me he would mail it to me, which he never did. I cannot recommend this shop.

Bing Li Gecko referred us here after the accident, but this place is terrible. After the crazy amount of time and money, the engine light is still on with few errors in the computer. I brought my car back, and they were saying this is normal. How can it be normal, and we end up being the car back to the dealer to identify the problem.

Patty McHugh As a college student, I took my car here based on a friend’s recommendation, but it was a terrible experience. They had my car for nearly the entire semester due to recurring issues. I paid for repairs, yet they kept insisting my car was fine. When I finally took it to my trusted mechanic back home, he found that none of the work had actually been done. I would strongly advise avoiding this place at all costs.

Chuck Tompkins Always courteous, confident, and reliable. Where else could you go for a likely brake job but they simply indicated that the brakes needed to be cleaned but not replaced. I’m always impressed with their honesty and integrity.

Walter Hartman Too expensive! Not thorough! I feel I was treated unfairly and with poor customer service. I paid over $70 just to have the under chassis of my car checked out, in terms of suspension and exhaust and they wouldnt even check the front and rear brake pads and I asked them but they said they "just do a quick check.". No work was done. The woman defended the man at the counter trying to justify their admitted 35% markup on parts, which is really something to say to a customer but from my findings I see its closer to 200% Plus! Im sure they do well preying on the local residents there who are vastly students, faculty, and teachers. They gave me an estimate of over $1,000 for only a portion of the work needed and Im going to have all the work done for far less. Why cant people be fair and more honest? Im never going back there and dont recommend it.

Donivan Patwell I love Pattersons. They are good people. My wife and I have always trusted them implicitly. After many years, theyve never let us down. They have always discussed the repair options and costs, taking into account considerations like safety and whether we plan to keep the car for another 1 year or another 10. I have never been pressured to get unnecessary work done, or to replace parts that didnt need it (unlike my experience with some oil change places).

Emily DiSalvo I booked an oil change with Patterson’s last week. During the time my car was at the shop they let me know that one of my lights on the back was out and offered to replace it. I said yes, thinking the cost would be worth the time it would take me to go buy the bulb and figure out how to install it. The oil change with the bulb replacement was $160. If that wasn’t bad enough when I got home I realized the light on the back wasn’t even installed properly. I went back to the shop to get it fixed, something that took 30 seconds. This was insane to me. A task that they initially billed .3 hours for to take 30 seconds to redo told me I was being exorbitantly overcharged. I was able to get a refund on the bulb but I feel as though they thought I wasn’t smart and didn’t understand I was being scammed. Do not go to Patterson’s! I will not be returning and nor should you !!

Leo Marrero Ive been a shop owner for many years. I have plenty of experience and a love for my work. Honesty with my customers. I thought Id find the same in this workshop, but no. Thank goodness Ill never have to do without their services again

Desoni Cooper They repaired my brakes but added another repair I need to fix. And they didn’t take me serious when I said there was something wrong with my car after they fixed the brakes.

Perry Hughes I wish it was possible to give 10 stars. I have never before dealt with such a honest and caring garage. We had driven up from MD on a short holiday. Our car broke down on the day we arrived. We were stressed about how we would get back if it was a long repair. We phoned many garages and they were all busy, and couldnt see us until the next week. Taber also said they wr r busy. But one of their guys. Sorry I forgot his name. Came in at 6 am the next day and worked on the car. He fixed it that day. Hence saving our holiday. Fantastic, above and beyond service. Wish I lived here so that I could always use them.

Joseph Samosky Our car had a major brake failure while we were on vacation in Ithaca and were extremely grateful to John and his team for their fast, professional service. He was able to schedule us quickly (next day) and we were back on track for exploring the area and driving 300+ miles home. We also had a slow leak in a tire which John fixed and didnt charge us. A great guy and a great shop -- were very glad we found them and recommend them highly.

Liz Hartman Wow - I cannot speak highly enough about Ithaca Auto Service. My family has been using them for years because they are so efficient, honest and easy to work with. We had a problem with an older vehicle over the weekend and not only were they able to squeeze us in right away, they also ordered a needed part and completed the repair by the following day at an amazing price. I highly recommend Ithaca Auto Service!

Matthew Lukosavich I went in for an inspection and they replaced my headlights without calling and asking me first, and charged me for it. I expected to only pay for the inspection but they charged me for bulbs and labor also. I had replacement bulbs in my glove compartment and I planned on doing it myself. I don’t appreciate them not asking before upcharging me

Daria B. I use Wilcox to get my tires switched out from regular to snow and vice versa. The service is fine, what you expect from a well-worn shop, but call to check on your car. They seem to never remember to tell you its done. Ive read a few other reviews that note people waited all day for their car to be done. My recommendation is to just call them after its been a while.
