I enjoy wearing my hair straightened and curly, so I wanted a cut that could work for both. Yvelisse was able to do that for me while keeping my length. Yvelisse is sweet, professional, and super attentive! I will definitely be returning for all of my future hair needs! ❤️❤️

Sunny Chung: I came here for a haircut and Annie who washed my hair did a wonderful job. She was very friendly. The man who cut my hair did not understand Cantonese or English, but the lady (Elaine?) in the front translated for him. She was very nice. I asked for long layers and she explained it to him and asked for the back to be straight. It was a $40 hair cut and when I was never shown the back of my hair. He never compared the lengths of the sides. I got home and saw it is incredibly slanted in the back and I live far from Flushing. The left side is significantly longer than the right side. I will certainly not be going back to the same person if I go to New Wave Beauty Salon again.

Dianna: I used to live in Astoria, Queens and I didnt like long travel times unless its worth it. This place is worth it. Now, I live in SF and every time Im in town I swing by and get my hair done. Dominican hair can run the gamut. From stick straight to full on kinky hair. These ladies can do it all. Fantastic people and an amazing price that cannot be beat. They dont try and force you to buy hair products (which I find lots of salons do). This place is also a barber shop. From what Ive seen they take really good care of the men. In and out with no problems at all.

Amantina Guzman: Took my daughter here. The wash service wasnt good. They had dandruff and flakes later that same day. Also, the beautician was great. Skilled with working with texted hair. Friendly, social, caring, and worked incredibly well with little kids and teens, too. Sadly the next week they let her go. No other current beautician makes me worth going back to this location.

The prices are never consistent and the service is not the same. Also no one speaks english my advice is not to discriminate and to remove rough older woman.
