Pamela Woodworth: There is usually a long wait. There was not this time. Other than that, it is okay.

Amy Amy: My 92 year old father stayed in the rehabilitation center for two weeks. He had the best care as he went through rehab for his pinned hip recovery. The nurses and assistants were caring and professional. The physical therapists were kind and fantastic at their job. The facility was clean and well taken care of. If you need a rehabilitation center we had an A++ experience. Thank you!
Vassar Brothers Medical Center Emergency Room - Poughkeepsie
AJ Black: Our recent experience at Vassar’s emergency room was, without a doubt, the best hospital visit our family has ever had. From the moment we arrived, we noted that the facility was clean and modern—truly state-of-the-art. The staff was incredible—knowledgeable, friendly, and impressively efficient. They ensured my Dad received care quickly without sacrificing quality. In fact, everyone we encountered made us feel comfortable and cared for, going above and beyond to make a stressful situation as smooth as possible. Thank you to the entire team for providing such outstanding care.

Ina Pottorff: I came into the ER by Ambulance and got a room almost immediately. The nurse was there within 3 minutes assisting me. There was a wait for the PA to come in but the CT Scans, x-rays & labs that were ordered happened quickly and efficiently. Getting the results, however took a long time. Thankfully it wasnt as bad as it couldve been but at that point it was very hard to get anything or anyone. My family had to go find someone else to get some juice, and later some tissues. As usual discharge took about an hour before we got the orders and release. Since it was past midnight, the doctor couldnt give me the necessary meds, but as promised she called them in and they were ready first thing in the morning. Mid-Hudson is my hospital of choice simply because it is not as much of a madhouse as other local hospitals. I also appreciate the follow-up emails.

Beth R: Getting a two star review because the nursing staff are exceptional. The admin is abysmal. No returned calls. Took over 6 hours to have a CT scan when we were told it would be "shortly". Transferred my husband from a regular room to the ICU without telling me. Phone numbers on the discharge paperwork are incorrect. When calling to make followup appointments, could not reach the doctors offices. Discharge paperwork said to make the appointments for 2 - 4 weeks. I finally got an appointment seven weeks out. I thought Vassar was supposed to be one of the best hospitals in the nation. I guess not.

Brendan Hasemeier: Came in on Christmas Eve / Christmas morning after taking our toddler to the Dutchess County ER for rapid breathing. Could not be more impressed with the staff, the facilities, and the care our child received. Every single nurse, doctor, security guard etc were compassionate and empathetic. They are trained to handle administration of care to toddlers which was a night and day difference from the ER. Private room with 2 beds and a private bathroom with a shower. They brought us a bag full of toys and brought a play mat and at kitchen into our room. Most important of all the care we received was top notch, well informed, great communication, answered our profuse questions. Still waiting to see the bill but solely from the care perspective, absolutely tremendous.

Desiree Roberts: I was in the ER last night in excruciating pain. They were absolutely packed and didn’t have a bed for me. They got me into a very comfortable chair in a hallway, which was fine for me, as quickly as they could. They even made sure my husband had a chair to sit with me. The nurses made every effort to check on me every time they rushed by. They were communicative and attentive. I moved to the area 2 years ago and have heard a lot of bad reviews from locals. I was so nervous to be there but it was unwarranted. I cannot say how grateful I am for the ladies that worked with me in the early morning hours, and the doctor (Pete, I believe?) that helped me and even gave me the name of an ENT to follow up with. Y’all are incredible and under appreciated.

Michelle Baker: Front desk staff a woman named Jessica who tried to treat me some sort of way but she failed miserably. As soon as I said hello and that I was here for allergy testing she asked “what I’m I here for?” I replied again, “allergy testing” she then asked for my insurance I responded “I didn’t know I needed my insurance card,” she replied “ it’s your first time here why wouldn’t you need your insurance card?” At this point I wanted to say “do I know you from somewhere because this attitude isn’t warranted? Instead I said this appt was scheduled months ago and started thinking how all weekend I was receiving reminders but not one reminder to bring my insurance card. She rolled her eyes and said “let me see if my supervisor could look me up! She gave me this heavy IPad to start filling out all my information and started whispering to her coworker. Never have I ever argued with someone in a doctor’s office where it’s suppose to be an empathetic and professional environment but not the girls in Poughkeepsie, they are rude!!The front desk girlies need attitude adjustment asap! Good luck
