Kristin Harris: Travelers Beware! Traveling through Rochester, on our way to Ohio, we began to hear a whistling noise at the front of our car. We called Total Car Care and they got us in and quickly diagnosed the problem. We were told that fixing the problem with the catalytic converter was going to cost thousands and that if we didnt get it fixed we would be renting a car to get back home. I called our mechanic back in Ohio for a second opinion. He said he had just fixed the same problem in the same make and model car for $611. He also told me that he would have little concern for driving our car back to Ohio. Based on his professional opinion I asked for the keys to the car so I could get my son back to Ohio so he wouldnt be late for work. The guy in charge at Total Car Care told me, "You cant do that!" I insisted and begrudgingly he gave the keys back but not before he charged us $255.47. He and the tech spent maybe 1/2 hour diagnosing the problem, nothing was fixed no parts were changed. I dont know if I know any medical doctors that charge $500 an hour? Now I am home, thankful that I took the advise of a trusted mechanic. My son made it to work, we are going to get our car fixed at a fair price and I hope people will read this review and be more careful, than I was, to get upfront pricing on even on a diagnosis.

I just recently purchased a car from them and they were simply amazing. I didnt have very good credit, but they worked their butts off to make sure I drove away in a car and I am so grateful for them for that so if youre looking to have your car fixed or are looking for a car to buy, I highly recommend Kalpins Express Auto everybody. There is great. I love them all, and you will not be disappointed.

Shan Sha N: Worst of the worst.This business routinely passes unsafe vehicles on the state inspection. I purchased a vehicle from PJ Motorsports on Clifford and North St, whom I also do not recommend doing business with, whom had received a "passed" inspection from this business the day before I purchased the car. I drove home and parked the car until I could get to the dmv the following day. Next morning, on the way to the dmv, the check engine light pops on, so I take the car to get inspected, and what do you know, the brake lines are bad, check engine light is on for the catalytic converter, tires are bald, the speedometer is reading 100mph when Im going well under 50, and the car starts when it wants to.I did some research on who did the inspection, and its this "business". This spot needs to be shut DOWN.
