1 /5 H van: Disappointing Blowout – Unprofessional and Overpriced
I went in for a blowout with Alex L., and it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a salon. My hair came out frizzy and unfinished. I asked Alex to flat iron it, but she didn’t do it properly—it still looked frizzy and unpolished.
Eventually, she had her assistant step in, after I complained who actually did it right—sectioning my hair and flat ironing it professionally. But then I saw Alex whisper to her assistant, and I had the sense they were planning to charge me extra just because the assistant fixed the poor blowout.
Sure enough, the assistant discreetly went to the front desk and told the receptionist to charge more. When I asked how much my blowout was, I was told $53—more than the $45 for my daughter’s. But her hair was also frizzy, despite being done “professionally.”
They tried to justify the extra charge because my hair was straightened—only after the blowout was a complete fail. I pointed this out, and they removed the extra fee, but the way it was handled felt sneaky and passive-aggressive.
The whole vibe of the salon is cold, impersonal, and not worth the money. We won’t be going back.
