1 /5 Amanda Figueiredo: I did not like how the owner tried to increase the price and make the other lady pretend she put in a product in my hair when she didn’t. I had a simple wash, rollers and blower. I didn’t put anything else or even flat iron my hair which they try to pressure you into doing. I have been to many Dominican hair stylist. This is by far the worst one.

Unlike many hair salons that operate like a mill, churning out their clients with noisy hasty visits and damaging processing, Melina takes the time to advise you if something you want to do to your hair may cause it damage. She trains her staff to be as polite and courteous as she is herself. Clean and uncluttered space. They go the extra mile to make your visit relaxing and pampered with offers of water tea, donuts, cake and chocolates. They certainly provide an exceptional customer experience every time.

1 /5 Liv Good: I am an African American woman with natural hair. I have never had a perm or a relaxer in my life. I went in to the Melina hair salon for a wash and set. And they put relaxer my hair. All my hair fell out. It’s unfortunate that it is so difficult to trust a person Who is supposed to be a professional to do the right thing. Part of hair styling is hair care. Customers trust a hair stylist to care for their hair, we trust them to consult us, to be honest with us about what they are going to do to our hair and what the expected outcome will be. Not to do what ever is convenient for them. If they can’t do a simple wash and set on natural hair, they should just say that. Moral of the story, Don’t trust your hair to these people at this salon. Especially if your hair is natural. They will sneak relaxer in your hair and cause it to be terribly damaged to the point that it will fall out.
