National Lighthouse Museum - Staten Island (NY)

5 /5 Toni Kaui: It took two tries but we finally made it to this wonderful little museum. As a HUGE lighthouse fan, it was worth the multiple trips. The nicest thing about this museum is its proximity to the Staten Island Ferry, which means a free ride to the museum and a short walk to the museum. The information I learned about lighthouses was fascinating and I loved the connection to Hawaii. Id always wanted to know more about Fresnel lenses and this place didnt disappoint.

5 /5 Brian Chastain: A small but absolute hidden gem of a museum located in Staten Island. Thr museum only costs $7 and has models of lighthouses from across the world, antique lighthouse objects/tools, and plaques outlining the history of lighthouses in the United states. Museum staff were engaged and knowledgeable, a joy to talk to. I was excited to hear that the museum will soon be expanding to the surrounding building in the near future.

5 /5 maggie dynak: This is a very beautiful and hidden place on Staten Island. I am surprised than not many people know about its existence. The museum is small and there is no real lighthouse . You go there and learn about the history of lighthouses. I hope one day it can be expanded and more visible to everybody. I give 5 stars because it’s interesting and has potential to be bigger than it already is.
