Hair Expressions - Utica Cheri Myers: Alison was wonderful, she has a great personality and did exactly what I expected to have done to my hair! She chopped about 8 inches off my hair and straightened it! Its so much easier to take care of and I absolutely love it!
Salon One - clinton - Clinton Sara Garlock: I have been going to Sarah for years now. She did my hair for my wedding and my entire bridal party and it was flawless. She made the whole getting ready process very stress-free!! She also is my hair stylist and she has educated me on ways to style my thick curly hair. I always hated my hair till I learned how to correctly do my hair and my hair has never looked so good! Definitely would highly recommend Salon One!!!

Johanny Hair Parlour - Utica Rick M: The people that work there are so unfriendly that I cant tell if they even speak English. The last time that I was there some hair was burning and the place filled up with smoke. The staff ( if you can call them that.) didnt even have any exhaust fans. I got a headache from the smell. Im not prone to headaches.
Lifestyle Hair & Beauty - Utica Lanique Nelson: The initial visit to schedule my appointment was not unpleasant. However, on the day of the appointment, I attempted to contact Aneta in advance by phone to inform her that I would be running slightly behind schedule, approximately 5-10 minutes. Unfortunately, my call went unanswered. I arrived at the shop at approximately 8:40 AM, but upon entering, I found that there was no one present. I knocked on an interior door and made approximately seven phone calls, one of which resulted in being directed to voicemail. Despite my efforts, I did not receive any response. I also, texted & no response. This kind of customer service is highly unprofessional, ignorant, & inconsiderate being as I cancelled all of my clients at work today to come to an appointment to be ignored. I could have went somewhere else and now I have to go on my vacation tomorrow without my nails and feet done due to an incompetent worker. Idk if its vecause im black, but If you dont want to service black customers thats all you have to say instead of booking appointments and cancelling we will gladly take our money elsewhere.
I would have so much more to say but youre lucky I have Jesus in me, so have a blessed day & please stop wasting people time if you really dont want to service them because of your own biases!

Maria Tucci Hair Design - Utica Kelly: Maria Tucci butchered my hair. I mean hacked semi-long hair into a shapeless mop on top of my head.
She talked about drinking and offered me wine at noon. And overcharged!
She did do a good job waxing my eyebrows, but Ill never go back for a haircut and it will be at least a year until grows out.
The Grateful Head - Utica Trista Kealy: First impressions are important, especially for a small/local business. Though Iāve known my stylist Mae for 20+ years, this is the first time I have visited this location. The outdoor styling of the establishment, the fun colors of the bricks, the painted mural that serves as the businesses signā¦ itās all comfortable and inviting in my opinion. The first thing you see as soon as you crack open the front door, is some funky cool 70s era wallpaper. Stepping in to the salon, you feel a warm and inviting vibe. The āwaiting areaā is comfy couches, cool music plays, and youāre greeted with a smile. Typically, itās expected to be slightly uncomfortable when getting your hair shampooed. Itās usually a given. Not here. Even the shampoo bowl is comfortable. I got my hair cut and styled. My hair has been rough since my pregnancy and I wanted to feel more like āmeā again. Iāve noticed recently that it is starting to have the (minimal) texture it used to. Mae took her time, and brought as much of that texture out as was possible. And I love it. It has volume again. It has waves, and the random spiral curl, again. I feel more like myself.
If you were contemplating booking an appointment here, stop contemplating and do it. You wonāt be disappointed. They have a multitude of services meant for every style and texture of hair. They do basic cuts, braids, curly cuts, color. Anything you could want or need!
