Janelle Augustin: I wanted to share some feedback regarding my recent experience. First, I want to say that I appreciated having a woman answer the phone when I called the shop. As a woman, visiting or even calling an auto shop can sometimes feel intimidating due to past experiences, so that small detail made a positive first impression. I brought in my 2013 Volvo XC60 because my air conditioning has been blowing hot air. After the inspection, I was informed that the issue was related to the catalytic converter, which needs to be replaced at a cost of $3,700. I was told this was also the reason for my check engine light being on and that once the code was cleared, the AC began blowing cold air again. However, this explanation raised concerns for me, as I’ve previously owned a vehicle with catalytic converter issues and never experienced any problems with the heating or air conditioning systems. When I picked up my vehicle later that night, the AC initially blew hot air, then began to cool but this tends to happen naturally during cooler times of the day, such as at night or early mornings. I drove the car again the following day in warmer weather and noticed no improvement. The AC continues to blow hot air even with the check engine light being off, so now the original AC issue remains unresolved. Additionally, I couldn’t help but notice that my vehicle appeared to have remained in the same spot throughout the day. While I understand the lot may be crowded, it left me wondering whether any work was actually performed. In the end, I paid $178 and feel no closer to a solution. I would have appreciated more transparency even simply admitting that the team was unsure how to address the issue rather than leaving me with unresolved concerns and unnecessary expenses. To further validate my doubts, my husband and I did some research and confirmed that a catalytic converter does not impact a vehicle’s AC system. This makes me question the accuracy of the information I was given.
    Family Auto Repair - Schenectady
Kevin Persaud: I wouldve gave him a 1 but because he sent the guy outside to some what take a look I gave him a 2. All I wanted was for him to diagnose my engine leak was going to pay. He didnt want to be bothered. Said he works some where else he only does quick jobs. Said to many people touch my car. I said I also have a van over heating. He said probably head gasket its a big job I dont want to get into that. You basically make me waste my time coming there because on Google services says engine diagnostics. Website states you do everything. Should say only do small jobs or pick and choose jobs. Then I wouldnt have waste my time going there. This is a update to your comment. Ill change to 1 star now. 1st you said Tuesday morning. If you had said Monday morning I wouldve brought it back as I am off. I didnt ask you to stop what you was going. You couldve said you have to make an appointment instead of making excuses why you didnt want to be bothered. Its ok Bulldog Auto took me right in cleaned all the oil off found the leaks in a hour. They helped me make a video for proof and write me up their findings for $155. They took my van in with no problem.
Triniboy Auto Repair & Calibration Center - Schenectady
Deborah Fontes: I was able to get an appointment within a reasonable length of time. I was able to easily drop off my car after hours. Triniboy Auto contacted me in the morning to give me an estimate and had the car ready for pick-up that afternoon. The repairs were done promptly and at a very reasonable price. They are professional and pleasant to do business with.
    Mcgregor Auto Service - Schenectady
Jessica Buchanan: My husband and I have already had such an amazing response and experience from this business and the owner, and we havent even taken the car in question into the shop yet. We are so grateful knowing someone cares enough to help us get our teenagers car back on the road safely. We will be switching all of our auto repair work from now on to this place. Thank you so much Vinnie! We look forward to working with you.

    R & J Auto Repair - Schenectady
Amberstorm Carrington: AWFUL! PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! SCAMMERS!! They refused to give me a price for the job needing to be done AFTER ME PAYING A DIAGNOSTIC TO TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. When I pushed for an estimated amount, and pointed out that they diagnosed the problem, AND had a steady labor rate so they should be able to give me an estimate at best, they refused service outright. I found out later on that this is a ploy they use to hike up the price at the last minute when the “job is done” to pressure the unsuspecting client to pay double what they should. No reason to be sketchy about an estimate for services diagnosed at their own shop. Also, $125 for a computer diagnostic is LUNACY. The woman at the front desk was the rudest person I’ve ever spoken to, doesn’t even let you get a word in edgewise and will literally talk over you while trying to bully you into allowing her to make a hefty hold on your card so they can sneak in the extra amount in their little scam. Oh, and all the 5 star reviews here are from friends/family. The low reviews are honest ones from REAL customers. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE
Jays Certified Auto Repair - Schenectady
Sasha Heermance: Went in for an inspection. When my car was brought back out there was a big chunk of paint missing off my car. Also the guy Adrian was literally slamming the gas to the floor while pulling in and out of the garage through the parking lot. Nasty attitude on top of that. Tried charging me $170 to replace the high beam lights. I will never go back to this shop.
    Burns Auto Center - Schenectady
Corrina Navarette: I’ve been using Burns Auto for about a year with my old Hyundai ELANTRA the money that I spend fixing it. I should probably buy a new one, but Burns Auto’s been keeping my car running great with no extra surprises. Great job guys.
