06-2025 Turning Point Park in Hight rate 19 location for tourist in Rochester, NY, USASeneca Park Zoo - Rochester Joseph Kent: This is a wonderful place to take your family. My family enjoyed it greatly. It has a wonderful selection of exotic animals, and it was an easy walk for young children. Thank you, Seneca Park Zoo, for a fantastic day.
Warner Castle - Rochester Beverly M Chapman: As a World Solo Traveler; I chose Rochester NY as my Latest Destination. (Also to visit Family) I have always been intrigued by ANY Historical Landmarks or Distinguished Locations. Even though the interior was in the process of being renovated and the entry was closed, I was still allowed by permission to walk around the exterior of this Castle and Take Photos. The Architectural Design and Craftsmanship of Warner Castle is Simply Breathtaking. Not very many Actual Castles remain in this Condition in the United States. Walk around and just absorb the energy and the beauty of this place.
ARTISANworks - Rochester Eric Bracken: Probably one of the most unique places in Rochester! Take a rainy day and spend a few hours being entertained. The Frank Lloyd Wright room is my favorite.
Sunken Garden - Rochester Carol Ann Jason: This was close to Highland Park so we decided to check it out. There were only a couple flowers in bloom when we went in mid-May. The parking area is small.
Susan B. Anthony Museum & House - Rochester K OBR: Hard a great experience. We arrived a couple of minutes late but were processed quickly and led to get into a tour already in progress. We didnt miss much. The guide was exceptional. She told so many interesting stories and kept us engaged. Only caution is there are stairs, some steep. You dont have to climb, but there is no elevator as this house is historic.
Charlotte Genesee Lighthouse - Rochester Cassie Webb: What a beautiful spot. Im from the Geneva, NY area, and when I learned August 7th happened to be National Lighthouse Day, I wanted to visit one Id never seen before.
I visited with a group of elderly, ambulatory individuals and although the museum was closed, the information posted outside across several podium-type info graphics tucked between flower beds on a solid pathway. I would say the area is wheelchair accessible, but I cant recall seeing access to the museum.
The view over the marina is beautiful, Im sure its worth going back to see when the trees change and the museum is open.
Thanks for making our National Lighthouse Day memorable.
Highland Park - Rochester Maikel Jose: Highland Park in Rochester truly lives up to its reputation as an urban oasis. Its simply amazing! Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the park masterfully blends stunning natural landscapes with peaceful serenity. Wander through meandering paths under mature, towering trees, discover hidden gardens bursting with color, and find countless quiet benches perfect for reflection or reading. The air feels fresher here, filled with birdsong and the gentle rustle of leaves. Itβs impeccably maintained yet feels wonderfully wild, providing a vital escape from city bustle without leaving Rochester. Cobbs Hill Park - Rochester Jacquie Woods: Absolutely beautiful! Hiking trails, baseball, basketball, lit tennis courts, playground, dog parks, and so much more. Theres at least 1 EV charger that I saw. The reservoir area is a great walk/run too! We had a great hike!
Corbetts Glen Nature Park - Rochester Jenny Twardowski: A well-maintained, family-friendly trail that leads to multiple small waterfalls. The terrain is mostly flat, with only one noteworthy hill. It had very little mud, even after heavy rain. I look forward to returning!
