5 /5 Mary McDaniel: Wells Falls was our first walk in Ithaca and it didnt disappoint. You must be careful and able to do a little bit of scrambling. The view from the falls area is remarkable with the old buildings there. A short but steep downhill walk to the bottom of the gorge was well worth it. You are near the road, but it feels as though you are in a very remote area. Really cool spot.

5 /5 Ingrid Hill: Aka Businessmans Lunch Falls. Park in the small lot for Mulholland Wild Flower Preserve and walk across the bridge, enter from opposite side of bridge. Steep, short walk to the bottom of the falls so it might not be for everyone and good footwear is a must. The powerhouse ruin at the fall is very cool. Top portion is a dam and lower section is natural falls. Running hard on May 11, 2025.

3 /5 K Mertens: We didnt see the view shown in pictures, but we did get a peek from the upper side of the fall Due to the weather and slope wed have to hike up (we didnt find a clearly marked trail), we figured it was safer to be happy with what we saw, and continue on our way.

5 /5 Kaylin M.: BEAUTIFUL!! park at mulholland wildflower preserve, walk back up and left across the bridge. make a right down the hillside, after the bike parking. its steep but incredibly manageable if youre in average shape. The path hooks to the right , to the base of the falls. what a beautiful spot!

Horseshoe Falls - Ithaca

Mike Z: Beautiful suspension bridge can be accessed via stairs close to Herbert Johnson’s museum. However the falls are right under the bridge and the falls you can see from it are Rocky falls. Safety net is encasing the whole bridge, so opportunities for taking good pictures of the gorge are limited.

East Shore Park - Ithaca

Eva Milstein-Touesnard: I go here all the time with my friends. It’s is beautiful and open to anyone. Swimming there is difficult because of the huge rocks which are slippery and jagged so it’s hard to enter the water. However, most people make it work and we manage to get our paddle boards and floaters in. Also, the large rocks on shore which are great for hanging out and sunbathing and there a grassy area and small pavilion.

Rocky Falls - Ithaca

Mary Chatz: Parking is an issue in this area, so we stopped briefly past the bridge to take a look. The view from the bridge is beautiful.

Evan Smith: The Sagan Planet/Space Walk is a scale model of our solar system. Starting with the sun, you can scan a QR code, follow arrows on the monuments, and/or dial into a phone tour narrated by Bill Nye. You’ll end up walking through some beautiful neighborhoods with bookshops and cafes to explore, parks, etc. It is very much worth the time, especially if the weather is nice. Follow the planets and then head to one of the many gorge trails! I will only post photos of the very beginning of the walk with the Sun and Mercury

Lick Brook Falls - Ithaca

Lori Ramirez: Peaceful, serene. Rustic hike. Lots of waterfalls. Ruts in path. NOT child friendly or stroller friendly. Yes, pet friendly. Watch your steps. No restrooms. Carry in, carry out. Well worth the trip! I recommend.

Rachel Somers: This is a great place to go with friends or family for a lake swim! You can cliff dive or just walk into the water, the trails are also super beautiful. There are a bunch of different places along the trail/river to put some towels down and sunbathe or swim!

Cayuga Nature Center - Ithaca

I F: The treehouse is beautiful, and my child really enjoyed it! However, the nature center was closed, and the animal enclosures were empty. Additionally, there was no access to bathrooms. On a positive note, we did enjoy walking along the trails.
