Heather McCalden It’s always a joy visiting T-Gardens! My stylist is Min, who is truly exceptional. I’ve seen her twice for Japanese straightening and both times I’ve left the salon feeling like a model. I have extremely long hair, which Min treats with care - and devotion. It’s clear hair is a passion and not just a job. Her attention to detail is unrivalled! I completely recommend her and the salon : )

Xingjian Hou Several months ago I asked for a short bob haircut, and showed the stylist the picture below. I think he did a good job at cutting my hair with a side view that quite looks like the picture, though probably a bit shorter. However, from the front my hair looked so short. More than one person couldnt even tell whether I was a girl or a boy -- I dont know if everyone who wears this style and doesnt put on makeup will look this way, or if there is something that could be improved with the haircut he gave me. The stylist did a decent job at following my wishes, but it would be great if he could explain the consequences of getting this haircut (if looking androgynous is expected) and offer advice.

Dena Ahmed Yama was amazing! My hair was severely tangled but he took the time to get it all brushed out and dedicated his whole time to work on my hair. It was so worth it and Ive found my new favorite place to go to. Its an hour drive for me from NJ but its worth it for manageable hair. Thank you T-Gardens and Yama!!!

Michelle Brütten Tristan is an ARTIST!! He prepared my hair for my WEDDING DAY and it was a dream!! I am so happy that he was the one that , so throughly, decided what would look the best, and it was his hands that made it happen! Highly recommend in NYC!!

Kierstin R. Elisa took incredible care of me and my curls at my first time to this salon!! I went in for a haircut to freshen up my ends and shape my bangs. The shampooing was thorough with much attention to detail on my scalp and helping remove any product buildup. Best. Feeling. Ever. She listened to my requests regarding length and my plans to layer or chop in the warmer months. Since I only use heat on my hair about once a year, I opted for a blowout and left feeling confident. They usually never last, but this one I wore for a week in rainy weather! Combing my fingers through my hair and putting it in a ponytail were so easy. My curls bounced back beautifully, and my hair feels amazing. Elisa’s skill, rapport, and professionalism made me feel welcome and taken care of. I can’t wait to go back! Curly girls, this is the place!

Alexandra Rodriguez Excellent experience! I love my new look! Jeshi did an amazing job with my balayage and cut. I’m so happy and would recommend 100%. Guly Jabrayilova I’ve been going to SAMIR for a year and he is the best. all you have to do is briefly describe what you want or show him a picture and he’ll do exactly that, but he’ll also make sure to keep your hair healthy at the same time. He’s also super efficient which I always appreciate so you’re not in there all day long. Would highly recommend

KARINA GRETCHEN SUTHERLAND Quality at the top, the best of the best. Madion Russo is the best stylist color and haircut design in all Hells Kitchen area, not only did a spectacular balayage perfect blending color but also my hair didn’t dry at all with the process, I absolutely recommend him.

Nicole Bartner Here’s the thing. We live in Vermont and, may I just say, it can be CHALLENGING, to get a good haircut in The Green Mountain State. So there’s that. But also, Miranda has been keeping her hair waist long forEVER and was just not able to wrap her mind around actually cutting it. As in getting a style and framing her face and just losing some of all that. And, again, the stylists in Vermont were not “helpful” in making any kind of change. So we were FINALLY going to be able to get back to NYC and I decided I would take the opportunity to take Miranda to an actual, legit salon where a stylist with knowledge, experience and skill would be able to do some “makeover” magic. But! I also needed that stylist to bring the Good Vibes and the Positive Energy to make this a GOOD experiences for Miranda. You know? Back in the 80s, when I was coming up and would sometimes get my hair done in NYC the “salon vibe” was, frankly, STRAIGHT MEAN. Like everyone was snotty and rude and mean. Probably because they were all also starving themselves in a doomed attempt to get that starved look that was ALL the craze back then. Also, of course, I have curly hair and that was just not a thing. It was never a good, fun, positive experience for me. But I’m GROWN these days and figured I could direct the whole situation as required to steer it in the right direction. I didn’t have to. Every aspect of our visit to David Ryan Salon was pretty much perfect. I chose David Ryan because we were staying in The Garment District and I knew I could find a place, walking distance, in Hell’s Kitchen. So I went online and read through descriptions and services offered and online reviews. David Ryan Salon, in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, is a GORGEOUS spot. The interior is really just perfect. It was quiet while we were there, but also we’d brought 2 small toddlers with us. So that was just as well. When I booked Miranda’s appointment I chose to request a Master Stylist. Because, WHY NOT? Two things: if you’re paying a professional to do something, get the good one! Also, there is no such thing as a good, cheap haircut. That being said, Miranda’s cut and style was $130. Which, IMO, is NOT expensive for an excellent haircut from a skilled stylist. Miranda’s stylist was Madion Russo. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Madion. Not only is he EXTREMELY good at what he does. He is kind. Kindness goes A LONG way my friends. Especially when you are talking to someone about their personal appearance and, helping them to change it. Not only did he give Miranda a BEAUTIFUL haircut, he talked to her about coloring and conditioning and styling and ALL THE THINGS in such an easy, approachable way. He tailored his service to his client and was just amazing. I cannot recommend David Ryan Salon and, particularly Madion Russo highly enough. We’ll be back!

Lulu Eltouny I couldn’t be more thrilled with this salon. The vibe is great and even during these difficult times, you are greeted warmly with a smile you can see through their masks , and immediately feel at home. Scheduling is easy and seamless either online or through the phone system. The entire vibe of the salon is one of beauty, friendliness, liveliness, and fun. It’s easy to see that the stylists collectively love what they do, each other, and especially their clients. The conversation is always hilarious and inclusive. You are not only getting beautified, but expect to laugh, be entertained, and feel uplifted and encouraged during your time here. My stylist is Robert. He always takes his time to explain and set realistic expectations , doing whatever it takes to see to it that you leave with a smile on your face. He is incredibly accommodating and even came in on his day off the day before I was moving , to make sure that I left with a memorable haircut, colour and style. He’s extremely precise and takes a great deal of pride in his work, which is always amazing. I literally went from hating my hair to absolutely loving it (like unable to stop looking in the mirror loving it). Robert is kind, hardworking, and honest. Add to it that he is one of the most gifted stylists to whom I’ve had the honor of entrusting my hair. Thank you , Robert and David Ryan salon!

LoMo Phillips So glad I found my curly hair salon in NYC! The salon was clean, chill, and large. Marianna did a fantastic job with my hair and took the time to give lots of tips on how I could style it better. She did the PERFECT hair cut - did away with the split ends, but still kept the length. I felt very well taken care of, and while a bit more pricey, I think it was well worth it given the entire experience. Will definitely be keeping Christo as my go-to salon!

Gianna Shafei Igor is an absolute gem! He completely revived my curly hair and taught me how to care for it with such patience and clarity. His kindness made the whole experience so enjoyable, and I left his chair feeling confident and truly in love with my natural curls again. I can’t recommend Igor enough. he’s a true expert and just an all-around wonderful person!

Tal Cohen I am very hesitant when going to new hair salons but I when googling different places I found Christo 5th Ave and after seeing all the glowing reviews constantly mentioning Igor, I decided to impulsively book my appointment. I am so happy I did. I don’t have a Before photo of my hair but the after speaks for itself. He cut my layers super naturally and still kept my hair long, which other stylists I have been to in the past have always struggled to do. He was also super helpful and patient and made sure to ask me what issues I had and wanted to fix with my hair. I love how he made my hair just look better and feel healthier. All my friends have just been constantly complimenting my hair without realizing I even got a haircut. Before Igor cut my hair, I was feeling really frustrated with how my hair would look and I definitely wasn’t getting as many compliments as I am now. So grateful to him and will definitely be back!

Kily A Wong Great service and results every time. I always get single color process, and my hairstylist Senait provides a great experience that goes above and beyond. She is super friendly, shares lots of hair advice, and even makes me a tea while I wait. The blowout looks really nice and lasts a few days. Glad to be a regular.

Britney Rosette I had my Silk Touch Keratin done with Alla and it was amazing. My hair was sleek straight & smooth. Not sure why people leave reviews saying they’re surprised hearing about additional fees for length & thickness when it’s clearly stated on the website. I definitely recommend Hair Bar for their customer service and care!

Tiffany Chester I had Senait and she did my hair absolutely amazing. She gave me layers and face framing and she knew exactly what would look good. I love the curls and my hair looks healthier and better than ever!

Amantina Guzman Took my daughter here. The wash service wasnt good. They had dandruff and flakes later that same day. Also, the beautician was great. Skilled with working with texted hair. Friendly, social, caring, and worked incredibly well with little kids and teens, too. Sadly the next week they let her go. No other current beautician makes me worth going back to this location.

Keyanah Codrington Never in life have I had a blow out done this well and this efficient. Jose was my stylist. A deaf man styled my hair this well with no issues. He was overall talented, patient and HE TOOK HIS TIME. I walked in on a random Monday evening and these ladies were super accommodating. I sat to wash my hair & the women was gentle. She upsold me on the deep conditioning which I highly key recommend. It comes with a smooth detangling. As a woman of color with kinky curly hair textures I would highly recommend.

Denyss Rodriguez I came in with black hair wanting to transition to a dark brown with blonde highlights, I have 3B curls and did not want to lose my texture. I am so grateful for the compassion and honesty they showed. They didn’t proceed because my hair would fall off and we came up with a plan to gradually transition. I appreciate the honesty and keeping my curls in mind. They gained a new loyal client because I will not go to any other hair salon. 100% recommend 10/10 and the new color she gave me was beautiful as well.

tatiana garnica My experience with Ali was wonderful. He is very professional with his work and provides guidance based on your skin tone and face shape. I simply loved his work! The atmosphere was very pleasant, and Ali is such a lovely person. He’s incredibly talented, and his hands work magic. I will definitely be coming back many more times. Highly recommend!

Monica Kunkel House of Beauty is my salon! Marjana and her staff are talented, professional and kind. Their appointment booking system is seamless and they always listen and make you feel special. I am grateful for them and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place to get their hair done.

Sherwood Callaway Mick at Green Room salon in NYC is an absolute pro! I’ve been getting my hair cut by him for multiple years now and followed him between studios. At some point, he suggested I try highlights… As a guy with short hair, I wasn’t sure how they would turn out, but Mick nailed it. He gave me a natural, low-maintenance look that still stands out. The vibe and staff at Green Room is super chill, and I really look forward to coming here every few months. Mick’s attention to detail of course is the real secret though. I’m a loyal customer and highly recommend!

Isabelle Shrestha Mick is literally the best! I have gotten two hair cuts with Mick and each time it has turned out amazing. He is also a great conversationalist and very personable with a great memory!

Tess Hokin Just wanted to say thank you to Mick, I love my new haircut SO much and am so grateful he took his time to correct the color when it came out a little more coppery than we anticipated. He really listened to what I wanted and created the perfect look for my hair texture and face shape. We went from blonde lob to chestnut pixie in just a couple hours and I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely be back.

Vincent M 2nd time going here and was absolutely AMAZED with the results. Ordered a cut and Digital Perm with Celine and wasn’t disappointed in the slightest! Celine was very nice, professional, and informative with my hair, especially letting me know that a digital perm wasn’t necessary and instead helped me with a down perm and charged me with that instead! While cost may be a little high, what you’re paying for isn’t necessarily the haircut, but the quality and professionalism that comes with it. the staff here are very courteous and kind! They offer refreshments of your choosing if you are thirsty and also sell hair products that will help maintain the longevity of the haircut you got! If you have a hairstyle in mind, make sure to have reference photos/videos so that the stylists may help you achieve your desired hair style! TL;DR - An amazing place with amazing hairstylist and staff! While expensive, it’s worth the cost. 10/10 and make sure you book with CELINE! Shes absolutely wonderful! Can’t wait to go again!

Mari Lee Absolute worst and choppiest haircut I’ve ever received. I should’ve left as soon as she started taking halves of my hair instead of smaller sections. She kept dropping the comb and tool on the floor. Seemed like she was lost. I tried asking the other hairdressers if what she was doing was part of the process, but they pretended they didn’t speak English or Korean and didn’t defend her either. Go to On Session nearby. Your money is better spent there.

Sara Rehart Got my hair cut and colored by Sarah, and so happy I did ! The service they provide is amazing and Sarah really knows what shes doing to bring your vision to life- along with giving her input. Everyone is so nice and I felt very catered to during my first visit there.

Olivia Qin I got my hair cut by hairstylist Louis. He was very kind and explained how to manage my hair after showering. I usually have very poofy and stiff hair so it’s hard for me to find the right cut, but he did an amazing job. Highly recommend!

william liu MG Hair Salon is *that* spot. The stylist Elon isn’t just “good.” He’s the kind of person who actually *listens* when you ramble about your hair fears. No fancy jargon here—just clear advice and skills that made my hair look better than I imagined. The salon itself is spacious. It’s bright, clean, and has those chill vibes where you don’t feel rushed. They have free tea. Just saying.

He really listened to what I wanted and provided professional advice that perfectly suited my style. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was great, the staff were very friendly and professional, and the whole experience felt five stars, first-class. Alex, who leads NYC Hair Lounge, really took the time to understand what I wanted done and offered fantastic expert advice. The cut was spot on – my hair has never looked or felt better. This is your place, if you’re looking for a hair salon that actually cares about getting your hair right, with the experience to get it right – every time. Good price in Manhattan as well.

Salma Ahmed had a fantastic experience at Hair Lounge NYC with Leah! I went in for a balayage, looking for a natural color that would complement my black hair. Leah took the time to walk me through the process and explain how different shades would appear on my natural hair. We decided on a deep brown to avoid using bleach, and I fully trusted her expertise. It was clear that she is highly knowledgeable in her field, and I appreciated her professional recommendations. The process was smooth, and Leah’s friendly demeanor made the experience even better. She engages in deep, meaningful conversations, making the appointment feel comfortable and enjoyable. I absolutely love how my hair turned out—it’s exactly what I wanted! She also took the time to explain how to properly maintain my color afterward, which I really appreciated. Kathleen this salon is incredible, not only for their amazing work but spectacular customer service. as someone who has been to various establishments to get services done, its natural to come across a lot of amazing skilled professionals but ones that make you feel just as wonderful each time you go is not something that comes by as often. mai & her team is so understanding & you can just tell she wants her customers to leave her salons feeling the best after. i have not tried their other services which i know i have to soon! i am also not one to leave review that often but this place has impressed me time & time again so i truly can’t recommend enough!!!

Georgia Little I have been coming to Alex for years and I wish I found him sooner! Before I found Alex it was hard to find someone who was consistent with my highlights. Every time I walk in I know I am going to leave loving my hair. Even if I wasn’t happy with the highlights I know he would stay however long it took to get it right. He once did my hair on Christmas at 6 am!!! He cares about all of his clients and always goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of. He listens to what his clients want and is consistent. If you come to the salon you will see every chair filled and it’s for a reason. He is a great listener, professional, knowledgeable, and a hard worker. You won’t regret coming to Alex.

Sam Cooper I have been coming to Alex for almost a decade now, and trust only him with my blonde!! His knowledge of hair science is unmatched - he listens to what you are looking for, but always gets you there in the safest way possible. Trust his suggestions! My hair is the healthiest and longest it has ever been. And I’ve never tried extensions personally, but Liz is the queen - her work is amazing and if I ever decide to try them, she’d be my first stop. I love seeing what they create at Aerea. Bonus, there is almost always a sweet little dog in the salon, sometimes a few. :) I moved to the ‘burbs, but they keep me coming back regularly!

Isabella Lopez Honeybliss salon is an amazing salon on the UES! I went into the first appointment unsure of what I wanted to do and Kadir the stylist guided me on what would be best. I did not like the outcome of my hair and they were happy to rebook an appointment. It was not a cheap process overall but I am glad I went back and got the hair I asked for. They use only Oribe products which is amazing. I would highly recommend and they are very detail oriented!

Shu Aw I have been getting my hair colored with Kadir & his team for a couple of years now and couldn’t imagine getting it done anywhere else. He always gets it right and is knowledgeable about hair health and color. Love the friendly and hard working staff as well. Highly recommend!

Lymari Delgado I HIGHLY recommend Honeybliss Salon in the UES! This is my second visit, and I couldn’t be happier with my balayage, thanks to Kadir’s exceptional skill. I’ve recommended this salon to many friends, and they’ve all had amazing experiences too. They’ve recently moved to a beautiful, spacious new location in the UES. The client service, hairstyling skills, and overall experience here are unmatched. Kadir and Jess are incredible, but the entire team is amazing at what they do. If you’re looking for top-notch service, THIS IS THE PLACE!
