Ms Dbj Such a bad experience.. they didn’t even bother to do my hair.. all they did was make fun of me on how my hair looked said it would take 9 hours to actually do my hair all because I used boxed hair dye. Not friendly at all don’t go here !!!

charmaine mack I went for a wash and trim. I honestly didnt think of ethnicity when I googled a salon and when this popped up and I saw the reviews I was excited. I normally go to a domican or African American salon so to me a salon is a salon. Well when I walked in Ms. Janice was very nice and her daughter as well. They had a woman wash my hair and the way she acted was ridiculous..she was mad about something and it was all in her face. She hardly washed my scalp, acted like she did not want to touch my hair. Never spoke once to me, not a hi or have a good day or thanks for coming. I did come in with my hair straight but as a black woman once it gets wet it curls fast. She started ripping my hair with a hard brush to stop it from curling up. Clearly there is a culture neglect in their service. Once she was done washing my hair she put mouse in my hair I told her no bc it has alcohol and it will stiffen and dry my hair. She put it in anyway as if she didnt hear me, then she went back to trying to brush my hair with the same brush to " detangle" my hair and I checked her. Its curly and if you comb it it separates. Then the daughter tried to say it cant separate as if she knew my hair. So once she got to blowing it the mad lady left it partially wet in the middle and only flat ironed the ends . Ms Janice trimmed it for me as that was the real reason I came bc I needed to braid my hair from a concert. I paid but did not tip bc the mad ladies attitude was not worth it and I always tip. I went home a dried my own hair properly. I would say either they are not used to black peoples hair in a mainly black city as Schenectady NY, then they should try bc its really sad the way I was treated. But I paid and was polite as expected. If you are black with 4c curly hair, dont go here. Stay with the domicians bc her clients are all Indian and it seems that is what is preferred, which is ok bc everyone has to have a place to call their own but if you get a customer different then dont be rude. Thats all Im saying.

Mcayla Humphrey Alyssa is amazing!! Everytime I sit in her chair I leave so happy and amazed with my hair. She is so professional and sweet and you can really tell she cares about her clients. I couldnt recommend her enough.

Gabriella Thomas If I could give this place no stars I would. Hillary was so rude made me come in early but I had to wait 30 extra minutes and wanted to rush and do my hair because she was late. Wanted to charge me 40 dollars more to just brush my black curly hair. Made me sit in a dirty sit with some other person hair in it everywhere . Was very very rude I felt so uncomfortable.wanted to leave my hair dry and unstyled BEACUSE she was late . Please do not go to her it is not a good time at all. I think she also needs to take a step back

Ms brown I love coming here to get my hair done it always comes out great! She takes her time with my hair and doesn’t rush, she makes sure you leave with your hair looking nice. I also bring my daughter here from time to time (my daughter have natural shoulder length hair)and she does her hair great as well. Her shop is clean and FYI she no longer takes debit or credit cards for payment so make sure you bring cash. I have no complaints with this beauty salon great experience all the time. Update: I’ve been going to her for quite some time and I’ve always loved the results of my hair. But as of late the quality isn’t as great as it use to be. My hair doesn’t have the look like I just left the salon. I hope the quality of work gets better because I really enjoy going to her. She’s such a nice person and keeps her shop clean and I appreciate if you have the pleasure of getting there when she opens up she says a prayer before she gets started. She does take cash app as a form of payment if you don’t carry cash.

Shannon Cerny I had April highlight and cut my hair and she is AMAZING!!! She gave me exactly what I wanted and also taught me a lot! 11/10 recommend!! She was amazing!! Already booked her for my next service!

Mary Lange These pictures were taken an hour after getting home for my (4 hour) half head highlight session for $135 + tip. I went in to get my grown out roots touched up, the top of my head looks just as bad.

C. Foote Dayle is my favorite hair dresser of all time. She figured out my temperamental, thin hair - when NO ONE else could. I highly recommend Dayle - so friendly and caring. No one is better!

Tonya Pelky Been going to the place for over two years. Always had a great experience until recently. When I found out a hairstylist, there is my boyfriends sister-in-law. She broadcasted mine and my hairdresser’s conversation on FaceTime with my boyfriends 26-year-old daughter. Which is illegal under the eaves dropping law my boyfriend called the owner and told her about the situation. She basically took the stylist side and then called the Rotterdam police and had the police call my boyfriend and tell him he can no longer call there or go there. She said she spoke to the hairstylist and she denied it 100% after telling her we had proof in text messages from his daughter stating what had been said, and that she was FaceTime in her for our whole conversation until her customer came in. Her name is Stephanie Purdy Be careful everyone if she did it to me, she can do it to you. The proper steps are being taken for this matter to be taken care of legally, I will not be going back to the shop because of the disrespect we both have received.

The hairstylist who was in training had a hard time with my mom’s hair but the team helped her out and the owner stepped in. We were all very happy with our service. They got us in And out on time, very friendly and lovely people! I’d recommend in a heartbeat.

Lindsey Jackson I have been going to Bex since the salon opened and it is the most welcoming and comfortable experience to get my hair cut or colored! I have recommended all of the stylists to anyone who will listen and also had Bex and her team do my wedding this past summer! With myself, 8 bridesmaids, my mother and MIL, Bex and her team were professional, efficient and fun! I trialed my hair and makeup a few months prior and Bex took care to adjust as needed and give me the perfect bridal hair that stayed put all evening! So happy with my experience at Bex and with the Bex team for bridal services!

Bex is incredibly precise, so accommodating, talented, kind, and genuinely cares about giving you and your bridal party the look you want. Not only were her and her team so much fun, but they were so efficient with timing and made getting ready such a special experience. I can’t thank them enough. Bex is an amazingly talented stylist and is prompt to respond to questions and provides a detailed schedule for the day of, which made timing our morning a breeze. Olivia did such an amazing job with the bridesmaids hair and Amber is magical with makeup! I would recommend them to anyone, no matter what look or hair texture you have!!

Beverly Henderson I get my hair done by Rachel. She is the best! I am never ever disappointed when I leave the salon! She greets everyone with a big hello and smile and knows everyone by name. I would recommend her and her salon to anyone. My friend nows goes to Rachel and is so happy with her too!

Samantha Sutfin Made an appointment with this salon a week in advance and when I came in the stylist never showed up. Waited 20 minutes no show. Other staff offered no help other than giving me her card to text her myself. Lousy business model. Will never go back.

Jennifer Moen I have been going to Sabrina regularly for years. She is the best! Not only is she a great hair stylist, but she is an awesome person too! Whether its a cut, root touch up or highlights, she does a great job, and is always consistent. She listens and offers honest and valuable opinions and suggestions. Love her salon, and now her boutique too. Would highly recommend!

She offers an honest and professional opinion whenever I have a question about anything hair and beauty related. Her salon serves as a peaceful oasis that I enjoy visiting when I need some "me time". Sabrina always goes the extra mile and has come through for me several times when it comes to accommodating my busy schedule. I will always refer others to Sabrina for the highest quality salon experience. She is the BEST! :)

Judith Hawkins Heather is the owner of the Salon and she is my stylist. For years I have been asked who does my hair and that’s because she takes great care of my hair and the health of my hair. She is great at what she does and always makes you feel valued when you are in her chair. She’s exceptional and I don’t think that is a hair challenge that would ever be too complex for her to take on! If she isn’t available one of the other professionals in her place would be able to assist as well. Heather takes great care in hand selecting the crew under the Salon X roof. She truly is one of the best!

Jessica Holmes Jeanette is the best! Nails it every time. This is the first and only time I found someone who can give me exactly what I want every time. No one else can touch my hair but her!!! Absolutely recommend. 10/10

Cheryl Baum Before moving to FL I have been a loyal client for 30 years with Ralf. I have had my hair cut and colored by Ralf, Anita and Eric. They are the epitome of professionalism. It is rare to find a consistently excellent salon over this many years. I highly recommend this salon in Schenectady; it is warm, friendly and they know what they are doing. I will still have appointments with them while I am in the area.

Sybil Addams I have been coming to Eric at Hair Design by Ralph for just about a year and half now to get my hair styled, and I always leave feeling happy and confident. Eric is very attentive and very personal, and I have come to consider him my friend as well as my neighbor. I boxed dyed my hair terribly and he has been helping me recover from the damage Ive done to my hair. I just went in today to get my hair trimmed and styled and I am always more than happy with my results. Thank you!!!

Mildred Nichols It had been almost 2yrs since I had my hair cut or colored. I decided to check out different salons in my area and their reviews. I found that the hair salon International Hair Design by Ralf had great reviews, especially of Eric. I called and got an appointment for Saturday. When I walked in the salon, I was completely in awe. It was spotless, clean and felt that I had stepped into a salon in New York. The equipment and everything was up to date. The whole experience was astounding. The shop is a family business. Father, mother and Eric their son. Eric did my hair. What an amazing job. The cut, color and style. I rate this shop 10 star. Thank you Eric.

Patrick Wolfe They are always polite and professional. The students always have supervision. Ive been going there for quite a while and will continue to do so. $5 mens haircuts on Thursday and I always give the student a $5 tip

Amy Leigh Me and my boyfriend made an appt with Frank after seeing the good reviews online. And I was very disappointed .We showed him pictures of what we wanted and he wasnt able to do what we asked for. I went to another stylist to get my hair fixed!! And they were shocked how badly my hair was cut .And he charged me 35 dollars for just mine. And I let him know it was not what I wanted. My bf hair was just as bad. It wasnt blended right and not even close to what I showed him we wanted. And I paid 60 dollars! Very disappointing...

Amanda Stevens Ive been having my hair colored/styled by Megan for about 7/8 years and I always leave feeling beautiful. It was a no brainer that I would ask her and the Studio Balayage team to do my wedding and I was not disappointed! These talented ladies were phenomenal! It was a big job (7 bridesmaids, mom and MIL) and they handled it with professionalism and ease. My hair and makeup could not have looked more perfect and all of the girls looked stunning! My mom, who is very particular and struggles to find a style she likes, was in LOVE with her hair. If youre considering this salon, dont hesitate, just do it.

Claude R The best salon experience ever. I was feeling anxious, excited, and nervous because I was doing the big chop. Lavida is the best at what she does. She was amazing, professional, knowledgeable, I can go on and on, but by the time she was done, I had tears in my eyes because I was so happy with what she had done with my hair. I also left confident because she let me know exactly what I needed to take care of my hair moving forward. Lavida made the experience of doing the big chop so painless and I left Coiled feeling amazing. I will definitely be back for a shaping in a few months. New home for my hair is Coiled. McKalie Koonce Went a few years ago & forgot to leave a review. Charged me over $300 for a “curly cut” and basically gave me a trim & then finger curled my hair. Extremely expensive and honestly not worth it.

Amanda Rider Lavida is everything youd ever want from a curly hair specialist and more! She is knowledgeable, patient and a true artist. I was nervous about the cut but she worked her magic and i love it! Thank you for making me feel like I can figure this curly hair world out! I cannot recommend Coiled Salon enough!
