Shar Marlene was kind and friendly to start. She revived my curls beautifully! She listened to what I wanted and executed even better than I could have imagined. We even created a plan to continue to keep my hair in it’s optimal health. Also for the first time ever I actually left the salon not only loving the cut but also loving the styling of it (this never happens). I absolutely recommend booking with Marlene.

Rachel Diamond is an amazing, obviously experienced, and creative stylist. She took the ideas and example photos I came in with and transformed them into a unique, dynamic look. She cut my hair a week ago and did a color consult as my hair was complicated by 3 tones of grey, natural brunette, and copper tips. The cut was perfect and was complimentary in a way she made happen. Today, we did a double process fantasy color of mermaid. The 2 tone teal and blue is literally beautiful. It takes an exceptional professional to know what and how to not just satisfy a client but completely wow them. Her customer service and attention to detail was great. Jennifer, her assistant, was also fantastic. She knew what to do without being told, asked questions when necessary, was a great team player, and had a lovely personality. She will obviously go on to excel at the next step of the job. Diamond’s personality combined with her talent and love for the job means I will absolutely be a repeat customer - with her as my stylist. Tysm, Diamond, for making my 1st experience exceptional.

Jemma Baines First time getting my hair done at 718 Dumbo, and I cant say enough great things about the experience—especially with Annmarie! From the moment I sat in her chair, she made me feel completely at ease with her warm and welcoming energy. S NYC I recently came to salon 718 in Dumbo, because of my “fairy hair Mother” Annmarie Parker!! She is hands down NYC’s finest and best stylist there is. Yes, there are many talented stylists, but Annmarie truly wholeheartedly loves what she does. I have known her, followed her and always will for the last 14 years. My hair is naturally curly and it’s hard to find someone who knows how to work my hair without damaging it. I have learned so much from Annmarie over the years because she not only shows you but educates you on what works for your hair type. Whether if it’s a quick sexy cute up-do, or glamourous waves her intuitive skills bring your visions to life. I am grateful to know her and have her in my life.

Sarah Got a wonderful haircut from James! I came in with a picture and general set of goals (more volume, lots of texture, face-framing) and he knew exactly what to do. I’m so happy with it! The cut really enhances my curls and gives me so much more shape. I’m always super nervous to go to a new stylist but I trusted the other reviews and they did not disappoint. Overall, a delightful experience that I would highly recommend.

Najood Alterkawi I have been searching for a new stylist and was so lucky to get the last available appointment with Jill before the holidays! The salon itself is very cute and inviting and the staff are all so pleasant. Jill made me feel so comfortable as we did the initial consultation to go over gloss and cut. I was going for a pretty big chop, around 4 inches or so. She was so informative, patient, and made sure I fully understood how my hair would turn out both cut and color-wise. I could not be happier with the final look!

Miko Ebony is the best! I go to her for both coloring and cuts, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She’s consistently amazing. When I’m unsure about what to do with my hair, she asks the right questions and comes up with fresh, flattering ideas that leave me feeling beautiful. She also provides the best tips on hair care, products, and styling that match my low-maintenance routine. Ebony makes every visit a joy, and I always look forward to my appointments with her!

Maribel Bisbal Made my appointment for 8:30am and Ebony was there ready to go. She made sure to understand exactly what I wanted. Everyone at the salon was welcoming and friendly. Ebony gave me a beautiful blowout and styling with heat tools and took the time to explain how to “fluff” before my event that evening. I highly recommend Ebony. She’s fantastic!

Adriana Foreman Chereen is awesome! She’s super friendly, very responsive, and a great hair stylist. I’ve gone to her a few times to trim my curly hair and she did a good job at not cutting too much off and making sure I kept my length. Recently I decided to do a big chop and she was great at explaining how my hair would differ from the inspiration pictures I had and made sure I was comfortable and sure about how much to chop off throughout the process. I love my cut and am so glad I went to her. Highly recommend.

Serengeti Timungwa Had such a great experience with Chereen! Color corrected a really bad “situation” I walked in with lol and did exactly what I wanted. Was super timely (started on time, ended on time). The salon was also a great private experience. Will definitely be coming back!

Halle Weinberger I will never get my hair done anywhere else! Katie is a master at both cut and color. I have a pixie cut which people tend to cut too short. She does a perfect job, starting with a dry cut and finishing after a fabulous wash and head massage. The first time she colored my hair, I was amazed! No one has ever done biolage color on my hair. I now know it’s the only way a short haircut should be colored. She’s also adorable and I love catching up with her every time I see her. I’d give more stars if they’d let me!

Amanda Berry I had a wonderful first appointment with Lola at Gloss Brooklyn last week! My hair has become wavy/curly in recent years and I had no clue what kind of cut I wanted or how to style my hair. Lola talked to me about what I wanted and was open to and proposed a cut to help me achieve my goal to bring out my hair’s new texture. I go there for my stylist Lola, who saves my life on a bi-monthly basis with exquisite root touch-ups, precision coloring, and incredible k-tip extension installs. She has the patience of a saint but the humor of a sinner and that’s why she’s the best. The salon is airy and clean and I look forward to going every single time.

Amanda Wong Roddy is magic! I got his Spa Detox treatment, and it really transformed my dry hair. Going into winter is always hard on my hair and scalp and my hair was looking very dry. But the treatment, which lasted about an hour, left my hair looking and feeling much more moisturized and shiny. Roddy also took the time to carefully blow dry my hair after and add some serum. 10/10 experience.

Nicole Dalaya Rod is the only person I trust with my hair and all hair care needs/recommendations. He is a hair artist with an eye for detail! He has such a talent for working with color and light and patiently creating looks that flatter whoever is in his chair. I get compliments all the time on my hair ever since I became a client. Highly recommend him!

Emily Rod was the first to turn me blond and now I wont trust anyone except him! Any time Rod had done highlights, or color, or a cut, I feel beautiful and get compliments. He is extremely knowledgable about the highlighting and coloring process and his expertise shows in the finished product.

Jade Roddy is very skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to hair color. He does a very vibrant red on me that lasts for longer than any other time I’ve gone red before, and without having to use lightener on my hair. I get compliments all of the time on my color ever since I started going to Roddy. He is also quick, efficient, and has great energy to be around. Couldn’t recommend him enough!

Anara Esengulova I have very very long hair, so I always worry when I go to new hairstylist. Because I dont want my precious hair to get chopped. BUT I always get a perfect haircut HERE !!! Ace Bedford Been coming here for about 20yrs now and is hands down one of the best salons in the city. Staff is friendly and gives you a bit of a cheers feeling where everyone knows your name. I would suggest making an appointment because they tend to get busy, but thats anyplace worth going. Verdict 5-stars all around for service, customer care, quality of work and friendly environment

Courtney Goeb I have seen Dominique 4 times now, twice to have my roots done and hair toned and twice for a haircut. Everytime she has done an incredible job. She is clearly very skilled at what she does because my hair has never looked better. Aside from her skills Dominique has such an easy manner, she is very easy to get along and chat with, or if you just want to read for an hour you can easily do that too without the press for conversation. I highly recommend her . Also for reference my hair at this point is platinum all over which is not an easy service to provide, but she has done this really well. She has also helped me go from waist length hair to a really adorable bob at my request, and I love it!

Abby Rand Have had 2 wonderful haircuts with Meg. It’s a tiny little salon (warning, you may have to wait outside if you arrive early!) but the stylists are warm and wonderful! Meg does an amazing job with curly hair, gives me a dry cut, a wash, and styling and drying within my hour appointment. She always listens and makes me feel heard. Big appreciation for the whole team!

I wanted to wait at least a full week to leave a review (especially after my last haircut at another hair salon that left my hair looking like an uneven mushroom that was a nightmare to style). After washing and styling my hair myself with the very few products I have at home... I can confidently say that Megan gave me one of the best haircuts (if not THE BEST) Ive ever had! Aside from being super sweet, Megan is definitely talented/educated in curly hair. She knew exactly what I needed and gave me a fun, easy to style, shaggy haircut (with bangs to die for). courtney lawrence This is a long overdue review. I just moved to the city full time and had been looking for a place to redo my keratin treatment. Saw great reviews about this place and it did not disappoint. Angela was inspecting my hair type and gave her recommendation of doing the protein based treatment over the keratin. However, I was a little concerned as I had never done this before but then she allowed me the time to do research and think about the differences and did not pressure me to choose her recommendation. Additionally, Esther who is a part of her team also inspected my hair for a second opinion and had done both the keratin and protein treatments on her hair which gave me comfort if I decided to ever switch back to keratin treatments. All in all I decided to go with the protein treatment and I do not regret it. My hair was been so much easier to blow dry and maintain. I was also not pressured to buy any products from them but was given samples in the event I wanted to. Getting hair treatments like this in NY is definitely pricey but I will 100% be going back to get my hair done hair as the experience and quality were superb.

Astri Kingstone I have been coming here since they opened over 15 years ago. All the stylists are great but I have mainly seen Angela over the years. I went in originally for keratin treatments and they were amazing. Angela turned my frizzy untamed hair into a soft, relaxed, easy to manage do. In between treatments I just brushed it or pulled it through a flat iron and it was pristine and I loved it! I recently decided to return to my curly waves and Angela easily pivoted and knows how to let my natural thickness work beautifully through layering and thinning it out. I’m really happy with it. Angela spends a lot of time talking to you about what you like and coming up with creative and helpful suggestions. This salon is more affordable than many and the people are welcoming and talented.

Jibi J I am very selective about who I trust to handle my hair because I have had bad experiences in the the past and also experience thinned hair from having covid twice. On top of that, I only go to organic or natural hair salons because of the array of chemicals found in convential hair care products. I live on Long Island, but this salon came up right away when I searched up organic hair salons on google. After seeing so many before and after photos, I decided to call to make an appointment. I was able to get an appointment the same week and was also kindly offered 10% off services for new clients. Angela and her team were so friendly and patient with all the questions I had as well as explaining after care. They helped me decide between the keratin and protein and I decided on the latter. Angela was able to complete the treatment despite my hair being very frizzy and resistant. She cut my uneven layers that really needed to go. I was not pressured into buying any products or anything like I have experienced at other salons. I was actually given two samples for hair mask. She also did baby steps with cutting my hair as I wasnt sure about how much to cut- she cut a little and then cut more when asked. She is awesome! Autumn Taylor I’ve been going to Salon Dumbo for the past few years to see my hairstylist I’ve had for almost 10 years, Chad Taber! The salon is always clean and the other staff are incredibly nice and hospitable. Wonderful salon! Chad KILLS the hair game from color to cuts, long or short you can trust him to give you a haircut that will leave you feeling like your best self. Isabella Montoya Diego and Eileen consistently knock it out of the park. I go to Diego for cuts, and he always spends the first part asking me about my hair goals and explaining what his plan is for my cut. He is so kind and thorough! I go to Eileen for my keratin treatments. She is so gentle– Ive never once felt too much heat or pulling, and she always checks in to make sure Im doing alright. She does an excellent job of getting every stray lock of hair. They are both deeply committed to their craft, and it certainly shows.

Chris Waters I used Salon Dumbo as a stop on a marriage proposal treasure/scavenger hunt and they were AMAZING! Everyone was extremely communicative. They had a stylist and makeup artist who were incredible. On top of the amazing job they did, they also helped me make sure she was out at the correct time for the marriage proposal. If you need beautification before a major life event (Or any life event) look no further

Phoebe Alman Been going to this salon for a couple years I will never go anywhere else!! I had tried so many other stylists but they never seemed to execute the vision I had in mind. But Crissel always manages to give me exactly what I want and I’m always blown away by the results! Not only is she super friendly and fun to talk to, shes also great at personalizing your desired look for your hair type. Always gives me the best recommendations for hair products and hair styles. Never letting anyone else touch my hair again!

Christine G It’s been about 3 weeks since I went to Crissel’s for the first time. I made an appointment and although it was busy, I walked in and the staff was kind upon entering. Crissel looked at the inspiration photos I had and talked me through the entire process since I was going to get balayage done and was trying a new haircut. Crissel was very attentive, patient and kind throughout this process and did everything I wanted. She also made the time fly with her ability to hold your attention and check-in with you through out the process which I appreciated. I would definitely go back. And if you’re nervous I recommend trying it out. I will say after 3 weeks of having washed and blow dried my hair since then, my hair still looks amazing.
