Ortega Kevin “Wade” I don’t often make reviews and even now, I wish I could rate less than a star. I had come in for a haircut and showed the lady, “Flour”, a photo of myself from a few months ago to have a reference; very simple request, right? Apparently not, because she would not only go on to cut my hair extremely short, but make it so uneven that now I will have to find another place go have my hair fixed. The entire time, Flour was checking her watch and phone for the time; clearly, her priority was not the customer. I have my senior prom in three weeks, which will now be rained on by this horrible haircut. Don’t waste your money or time on “Flour”, she’ll rush and mess your next few months up.

ME LI They RUINED MY HAIR. The girl cut my hair shorter than what I asked for and she left it uneven. When I asked for a refund, they said no, even though they saw that my hair is uneven. They told me that they were going to fix it by cutting more but I didnt want it shorter than it is and that I only wanted my money back and when I said that, the man who is upfront started yelling at me. Terrible service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

Mikito Mikito I been going to Jorge for the passed 20 years at Lemir salon. What I have to say about him is all positive. He will leave you hair beautiful and healthy, and that’s the most important thing for a women I feel. I have full trust in him when I go to him to have my hair done. Something that wasn’t a luxury before I met him.

Lovelyne Thevenin Please for the people that have natural hair be careful going to this beauty salon. They will add chemicals to your hair without your consent, so that it can be easier for them to manage. I realized they processed my hair a week later when i washed my hair myself. My hair came out straight (perm like) and was shedding a lot. Im sure your wondering how? They may have added the product to the conditioner they used in my hair. Please be very careful. Sad customer :-(

Amy Deng Hairdresser aka owner was 30 minutes late. I came at 12:30pm, she wasn’t there and her colleague called her and she asked me can I do 2:30pm. I came back around 2:36pm and she comes in at 3:00pm. I asked to cut 2-3 inches. She cuts off like 5 inches? And when I said it is way too short, she said I agreed to this. Why would I agree to cut off 5 inches. She showed me on hair where to cut and I said no and I showed her where I want it cut it and she said okay. Cuts my hair for 20 mins while on her cell phone the whole time. Let’s disregard the length, the hair cut itself is horrible. Idk why I still tipped her $5, she should give me money for messing up my long hair.

Betty Boop Ive been going to this location for 15 yrs! Now there is a new owner but my same stylist.Ive followed my stylist from another salon. The color dye is not the same quality. I can see and feel the difference. The products have to be cheaper and poor quality. I paid $130 supposedly included the tax! First time ever! I dont think ill be going back. I love Ramona but it was an odd visit today. I wonder if i can hire Ramona to do my hair at home. So disappointed!

Daeun Cho He did an amazing job on my root bleaching. Price is super reasonable and his haircut skill is also fantastic. 100 percent recommended!!!!

Hes one of a Kind!!!! Every where I go I get compliments about my hair and is thanks to him. Yang is absolutely wonderful and I am so grateful to have found the best hair stylist in Sunnyside!!!

Jane Lee Friend and I were visiting the area and needed to get hair done that day. We found this gem in the neighborhood and they were able to take us without an appointment. I showed Mr. Yang a picture of what style I needed for the evening and he did it wonderfully! Both Mr. And Mrs. Yang are very sweet and accomodating. I love supporting family owned businesses and will be returning when Im in town. My friend also loved her hair.

Meggie Wang I’ve been coming here for 2 years and have only good things to say about this business. They do it the Asian way and it is an endearing reminder of hair salons in China. My stylist also has given me very good advice about what to do with my hair texture and given me great cuts. All that for the price of $40, and I have long hair. You don’t find prices like this in the city anymore.

Luke Naphat Kevin is very professional. He helps me with design. Instead of pushing me to do the perm, he ask me to wait for another 2 months to get the best Look of my perm! He knows what I’m looking for. You the best, Kevin!

My friend recommended me this place after endlessly looking for my go-to spot, I trusted her and traveled half an hour. The travel was totally worth it! Amazing experience and prices! Glady’s is super sweet, insightful and makes you feel so comfortable. My cut superseded my inspo photo! I definitely found my spot and can’t wait for my next appointment. They also have spa services that I’m dying to try out! The hype is totally real!

Marshal Mathers Quite truthfully a 10/10 experience from the moment you enter the door to the moment you leave. A friend recommended me this place and I go quite far to it and is incredibly and reasonably priced. Ive never been quite loyal to a place that cuts hair and more till now. Absolutely reccomend and will come back soon

Arianna Mateo Rodriguez I loved this place so much! Im Dominican and I loved the vibes and the quality service. I have 3B curly hair so went to get a haircut, I got exactly what I asked for!! I went with a friend who went to get her hair trimmed and she did such a beautiful job! My friend even ended up getting a blowout. The owner Jacky makes this place feel like home, and Maribel who did such a wonderful job was really sweet and patient. I saw Jacky the owner do a hair dyeing and she’s also really amazing. I didn’t take any before and after picture but my friend did. I took one after! I loved the place, and it has already become my favorite

Ivette Piña I saw Briana for my cornrows and 5 Stars – My scalp is grateful and so am I! I’m tender-headed with trust issues when it comes to braiding, but this queen right here changed the game. She was gentle, detailed, and so organized you’d think she was braiding by blueprint. She actually listened to my instructions (rare), kept everything clean and professional, and even showed up on time yes, ON TIME. The braids came out clean, neat, and cute… and the best part? I didn’t have to cross state lines to get them. She’s right near my house, affordable, and now officially my go-to. My scalp didn’t cry, my edges are intact, and I left feeling like a braided goddess. Highly recommend!

Jasmine Kaur Great group of ladies and a great experience. I (and others close to me) have seen a noticeable difference in my skin after getting monthly facials done here. They also do a wonderful job threading my brows and I love the hair oil head massages. Highly recommend.

Amber Pitre My go to place for any of my beauty needs. Waxing, threading, facials, massages, eyelash extensions and more! The staff is always friendly and they are very professional. Its a really good experience from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. They are reasonably priced and there is something for everyone. Even the pricier services are worth it because you get what you pay for and then some. The place is always clean and really takes pride in their work. Definitely recommend coming here or even their Manhattan location. I never leave disappointed.

Mayra I’ve been a regular customer at this salon for a while now, but after today, I will not be returning. My experience was incredibly disappointing due to poor customer service and a lack of professionalism. One of the staff members was rushing to attend to multiple customers at once, including me, while there were other employees sitting idle. This attempt at multitasking resulted in sloppy service for everyone involved. For instance, she started my wax but left halfway through to work on another customer’s eyebrows without finishing mine. I politely pointed out that she missed areas, but instead of addressing the issue, she continued bouncing between customers. At one point, I was left with wax on my face for several minutes while she assisted others and even handled a transaction for a walk-in. Ultimately, I had to remove the remaining wax myself and ended up overpaying for the poor service before leaving the salon. What’s also frustrating is their payment policy. They force customers to pay in cash, and they make sure to state their reasons are to avoid charging and paying taxes, which is both unprofessional and unethical. I’ve given this place several chances, but today was the final straw. It’s clear they prioritize rushing through services to maximize profits rather than taking pride in their work or ensuring customer satisfaction. If I could give less than one star, I would. I’m beyond disappointed.

C Amparo is a professional business owner, she takes care of her customers until they are satisfied with the results. She is a color expert and does a beautiful blow dry all the time. I have been coming to Amparo Beauty Salon for the past 10 years and will keep coming back!

Samantha Rich When I first entered there, they welcomed me very nicely. I told them I want to be blonde. I had dyed my hair red before. I wanted to go from red to blonde. They told me from the beginning that I couldnt go back to blonde. Then they said it wouldnt be blonde all of a sudden. They said I needed time for my hair to go blonde without getting damaged. In the end, my hair looked very natural. I was very pleased with the result. Everyone who works there does their job very well. I have been in America for 25 years. I couldnt find a master stylist. But from now on I wont be looking for a good place to get my hair done. I will recommend it to my friends. In fact, I will take one of my friends there tomorrow.

Danielle Hernandez First time bringing my kid to a hair salon. Richard was so nice and gentle. He did not get “scissor happy” when cutting her hair. And he treaded her like she was an adult but was super careful to not cause any pain. I will always come to him for my child and for my hair needs from now on.

Pili Ricardo was amazing! Super fast and cut my hair exactly like the photo reference I gave him, not taking off too much length just as I asked. I was worried because not everyone can cut curly hair well but he did! Also very good price

star valley I had a wonderful time here! I got a cut and color, at first I was afraid I would lose the length in my hair but Carmen did a wonderful job at keeping my hair looking long. My hair also looks so much healthier and feels so soft and light. Carmen and Ricardo wanted to make sure that I would absolutely love my hair and that my hair would be healthy too and they did just that! I loved that they were so nice too!

K Kseniya (Kay) I was a walk in here for dyed hair (black)and a haircut (shoulder length hair). Paid 150$. A bit way too pricey for me but great service and energy. Everyone was so nice and kind. They even have a little closet for you to put your things in. Hair looks amazing and so soft!!! Thank you !

Guadalupe Lopez Very Bad experience. I went to dye my hair blonde I told them I wanted something subtle (I also showed them a photo I even told them the dye numbers) first they left my hair white and my hair weak and then to solve it they gave me another bleaching and I dont know what else but They finished killing my hair. They laughed and said I was pretty and everything is ok when I said it wasnt what I wanted. They hurt and burned my entire scalp and hair! Im praying I dont go bald. I sent them a message and they never responded to me to take responsibility for what they did. I respectfully sent them a message hoping for a quick and good response and there was never a response. I am doing this review so that the same thing doesnt happen to anyone else.

rileya obach Quite literally the best layer cut and blowout I’ve gotten; Bilqees auntie made sure that the layers were exactly how I wanted and didn’t have a problem at all with the thickness of my hair. Will definitely come back!

Fashion and Fckboys This salon is great and the best part is they are knowledgeable on 4c hair. Another thing I love is that they pay attention to direction and there is no attitudes when I am expressing how I want my hair done. This salon is consistent and the customer service is top tier. 10⭐️

Reneesa T Updated review: I gave it 5 stars before. I used to love going to this place before but yesterday I went and I noticed that they increased the price by sooo so much. All I did was haircut and style with blow dry I didn’t even use rolls. I was charged $95.. $95???!!! For haircut? I mean she obviously scammed me. I went to flushing for wash, cut and blow dry and I remember not paying more than $40. To be honest I understand they are spending some time doing the hair but I still don’t believe just doing haircut and blow dry should be near $100. As a student that was my whole day worth money. I will not be going back there again. This isn’t Manhattan that a haircut supposed to be this expensive. They ripped me off for haircut that don’t even look identical I wanted a lot of layers she only gave me two.

Anny Mariano First time coming to this Dominican hair salon and will be coming back again. I have thick curly hair, and wanted a nice blowout. I was very satisfied with the results. Service was great, I ask for them to not use any products that can affect my curls and they respected that. I loved how they made me feel, treated me like an client they have had for a while.
