1 /5 Steve Mikhlin: Full disclosure: I am not a member of this gym, and based on my experience today, I do not intend to become one. I stopped in to get a sense of the facility and how busy it typically is. Upon arrival, I was immediately handed a clipboard and asked to provide extensive personal information. When I asked if we could simply take a quick look around before sharing any details, the staff member declined, stating that he needed our information “to do his job,” which he described as selling memberships.
In my experience, no credible business requires prospective customers to provide personal information before they have had an opportunity to learn anything about the product or service.
