Ross Schultz I wish there was an option for 6 stars. You always hear about so many mechanics taking advantage of people because they dont know better and you think: "I wouldnt let that happen to me". Well I thought that too until I had to start looking for a replacement shop a few years ago after finally realizing the shop I was going to was taking advantage of my me because of my age (I was 19 when I switched), and my unfamiliarity with working on cars. They charged astronomical fees, told me I was getting upgraded parts when they were actually the cheapest they could find, and the last straw was casually being told they would buy my mint condition modified 2000 4Runner for $1000. Once I found Hyde Park Auto, I havent even considered using another shop. I deal with Maddie quite a bit - since Im in there quite a bit - and she is just amazing. She is so funny and she doesnt take shit from anybody. The mechanic Jordan is the one who works on my 4Runner the majority of the time so he is familiar with what my car needs and how my specific car works. Everyone there is just... genuine. They tell you exactly what they will be doing, and most of all explain it to you. They always make sure you get the best service for the lowest price they can give you. I will recommend Hyde Park Auto time and time again. It is SUCH a pleasure working with them.

Jessica LA As a female I was nervous when I brought my prized KIA in, but Maddie the owner sat me down, offered me Skittles and calmed my nerves by discussing 80s hard rock and guys she had crushes on. She runs a tight shop, relaxes you, is a dog lover (thats a plus) and even though she forgot to leave me keys, she had her tow truck driver run immediately back to get them out of the office. I cannot thank Maddie enough for helping me. She might seem like a tougher version of Gemna from SoA, but she is a complete delight.

holly armstrong We were on our way to New Paltz to pick up our grandson from college. Just a little south of Boonville the right rear tire went flat…totally flat so we could not drive at all. The AAA Driver from Rensen was there to assist us in less than 30 minutes. He then took us to Maugeri’s Auto Repair. The service was sensitive to our need to get to NewPaltz as quick as we could because the dorm was closing. They ordered the spare tire quickly for us and mounted the tire as quick as possible. Kudos to the staff for their excellent and thoughtful service.

Jaden Jeswald My dad is a mechanic of 40 years and when my truck suddenly wouldn’t start while he was many miles and states away we both kind of panicked. (Me much more than him) Luckily I was able to get it towed to Maugeri’s and they were amazing and super helpful. It was a minor fix and in reality didn’t take much work to get started again. While they could have charged for having my truck for a few days and for taking a look at it at all, they didn’t. The owner Chris is a really great guy and his employees are great too. They’re super honest and he said he wouldn’t want his kid to be stuck in a situation like mine without help so it was no problem at all. I appreciated this so much and I know if I have any issues in the future I’d be in good hands here. Would HIGHLY recommend!!

Robert Cronin Bought a used Kia Rio 2009 from this dealer after researching dozens of vehicles for sale across NY. Checked TSBs, Recalls, and common issues for engine, tranny, front/rear differentials, electronic, body, etc, before settling on this gem from Khans auto service. If you dont want a lemon, do your auto research and you wont get a lemon. Shahbaz was happy to take the Kia to Smiths Auto, where it was inspected and 3 things were taken care of the next morning before I went in and bought it! Shahbaz delivered it to my home after he got off work the same day, and the day after I had plates on the car. Shahbaz does his work professionally and ensures the paperwork is all set so you dont miss anything when going to the DMV. This makes two auto businesses in NY Ive found to be professional quality and thorough. During the test drive before buying and driving after purchase, I noticed the gas pedal was grindy/sticking. I took the car to Smiths where they confirmed the accelerator cable had chewed through the plastic bushing and was grinding against its metal housing. Upon calling Khans auto, I was assured it would be taken care of under warranty, after the part was ordered I would be notified. Fantastic service!

Vince Boccanfuso I highly recommend Hackels garage in Albany for any VW or Audi service. They are the only shop dedicated to VW/Audi in the NY Capital District. I brought my very high mileage GTI in to have the rear main seal replaced in hopes of fixing a lean running and multiple misfire condition. Bobby Hackel worked on my car and did an excellent job. Its a very labor intensive procedure that requires transmission removal that many garages wont even do. Bobby communicated progress to me over the few days that it took and even texted me a picture of the bad seal. He returned to me a perfectly running car for a very reasonable price. I especially appreciate that Bobby was recovering from a pretty bad illness while working on my vehicle. I cant recommend this shop enough. They have been open and family run for over 50 years and eat, sleep and breath VW!

Vassil Dimov On our way to New York, our tour bus broke down and we needed a fix, but all truck shops around were closed. Luckily, this place was open. Although, they dont service buses, they provided us with the supplies we needed to get the bus going. The owner and employees were very friendly and hospitable. They let us stay on their lot and kept us company while some of our crew was fixing the issue. Great place and even greater people, thank you!

Miguel Serrano Ive been bringing my car to Millers Corners Garage for over 5 years now, Chuck, Matt and the team are hands down the most honest and trustworthy mechanics Ive ever worked with. On multiple occasions, theyve saved me from unnecessary repairs by quickly identifying minor issues that could be easily fixed. You just dont find that kind of integrity in the auto repair industry these days. They also take the time to explain problems to me in a way I can actually understand, taking the time to walk me through whats going on with my car and provide super helpful guidance on how I can better maintain it myself. This approach has has made me a much more informed and proactive car owner. What I appreciate most about is their unwavering transparency. They are always upfront about the work that needs to be done and provide accurate estimates. I never feel like Im being taken advantage of or that there are hidden fees - their pricing is consistently fair and in line with the initial quotes they give me. Overall, Ive been 100% satisfied with the service Ive received from Millers Corners Garage over the years. Their focus on honesty, education, and doing whats right for the customer is truly commendable. I would give them my highest possible recommendation to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy mechanic they can count on.

Nick Roberts NO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE! I have an 88 Mercedes. I dropped my car off on 7/17/24 and was told they would be able to get it back to me with a quote by next day. I needed my AC repaired, a clunking noise in the front end repaired, sway bar linkages installed (already purchased from the Mercedes Dealer), a dash bulb light replaced, a leak in my fuel pump, and an oil change. I never received a call the next day so I called but unfortunately Thomas said they werent able to get the quote done. So I called again the next day, still no quote. I called Monday and Tuesday with the same result. I was finally sent a quote on 7/24/24. The front end noise was diagnosed as ball joins and control arms. They included everything else I needed addressed as well as recommending I repair a leak at my rear differential. It was reasonable for the amount of work so I approved it. I asked when I could expect to get my car back, Thomas told me by the end of the following week (expected 8/2/24 at the latest). I called 7/31/24 to see how everything was going and Thomas said they got the AC repaired they just had to get to the rest but they were still hoping to be done by the end of the week. I called back the next day and they confirmed the car wont be done until the following week. I followed up on Tuesday and they told me they did not finish the work and unfortunately the work wasnt done because he had multiple people out sick but they should be able to get it back to me soon. I decided to go to the shop on 8/9/24 as the work should now be done. Thomas told me again the work wasnt done. I looked over the car which was sitting in the same spot as when I dropped it off and it didnt appear anything had been touched but I was told early next week I should get my car back. 8/13.24 I called again with the same result. 8/16/24 I called and Thomas told me most of the work was done but they ran into some issues but they knew I was frustrated and told me I would be able to pick up my car. They told me I would have to come back for sway bar linkage and to get the tie rods replaced as the front end was still making a clunking noise. I requested they send me a quote and I bring the car back when it was more convenient. I drove the car home and the AC was great. Unfortunately thats where the good news ends. The clunking was no better than when I dropped it off, and the dash light was never replaced. When I got home I noticed smoke coming out from under the hood. There was a major oil leak all over the top of the motor. I looked at the oil filler cap and it wasnt even installed correctly which caused an oil to leak from the filler cap all the way from Albany to Saratoga. Frustrated I decided to check to make sure the fuel leak was actually addressed and I noticed there was plastic on my fuel pump which was not there before bringing it to the shop. I brought my car to another shop to get the work done and the shop tells me there is no sway bar link in the rear driver side. They never installed the rear sway bar on the driver side but allowed me to pick up my car. I was told I would have to come back to get them installed but I assumed the original wasnt taken out. I went to R and D on 9/10/24 to talk to them about my issues. I explained the oil filler cap and Thomas agreed that it was unacceptable and ridiculous. He told me the reason they didnt install the new sway bar link was because the old bolt was going to have to be drilled out and will take 5-6 hours. He said there was no way of knowing how much play there was in the tie rods until the ball joints were replaced. I forgot to ask why they charged me for a bulb replacement that was never done. When I asked about the plastic on my fuel pump he was completely dismissive said they didnt do that. I have photos of the fuel pump prior to bringing it to their shop without the plastic. I waited over a month and was charged almost $3000 for unacceptable work. The communication is horrible and the quality of work is horrible. They will make an excuse for any poor work they did. Go somewhere else!

Debbie We were traveling through Albany from South Carolina and had an issue with our Porsche. The Porsche dealership in Clifton Park refused to help us unless we waited three weeks even though it was only a one hour repair. But Thomas was able to fit us in the following day and we were able to keep our traveling schedule. We were so grateful for their professionalism and kindness. Thank you!

Vincent Martin I echo the reviews on Never bring your car here. Absolute terrible communication and I’m not sure who they have working in there shop but they obviously don’t have a clue on what they are doing. Took my Allroad there for an intermittent rough idle. They performed $1800 dollars worth of work and after I picked it up the engine light was back on before I got home and the car was running no better. So I took it back and then they now tell me it’s needs about $8000 of work to repair it. Either they just didn’t wanna do the job or they just didn’t know what was wrong with it. Either way I then took it to Albany Audi for a second opinion. They had it fixed and back to me in 3 days for $2400. So long story short they soaked me for $1800 for nothing. Again if your thinking of going to R&D Stay far away.. I learned my lesson the hard way

The end result, they did a great job at a very reasonable rate and were a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend them. Its also nice to support a little guys instead of these big garages that forget what real customer service is all about .
