5 /5 Tovah Wolf: My friends and I went to Buffalo for a quick girls trip, but on the way back from Niagara Falls, my car started shaking. I was really worried since it was the weekend, and it was my first time being away from our toddler. I called several mechanics, but everyone was booked until midweek. Then came Shane to the rescue! He responded quickly and was able to see me within 24 hours. He diagnosed the problem in minutes (a tire magnet had fallen off) and even directed me to a place that could fix the tire and do a wheel alignment right away (shoutout to Fox Tire for their amazing service). Shanes kindness and excellent communication made a stressful situation so much easier. Thank you, Shane!

His prices are really reasonable and he sticks to his quotes. As someone who doesn’t know anything about cars, he made sure to be transparent and show/teach me what was going on with my car and that was really very helpful. Michael Koenig: I very rarely give reviews good or bad but I had to make an exception for Matt at M and w was referred to Matt after asking the North Buffalo Facebook page if anyone can recommend a mobile mechanic or local mechanic. And Matt was referred to me. I reached out to him that day. I told him about the problems I need fixed on two of my vehicles. He was able to give me an estimate that included parts and labor and one that just included labor hours. Within minutes of talking to him.And from the very first conversation there was never no BS dealing with him. He was able to work around my schedule and understood I couldnt go without my vehicle for more than one day. Matt was able to do a complete break rotor and caliper job on both axles of my 2005 Chevy trailblazer. By the time I was done shopping when I drop the car off to him after hours. He works in a very timely matter, and his prices beat all other shops I called for estimates after speaking with him.He doesnt try to upsell or generate more work but he will tell you if he notices something should be fixed but doesnt try to scare you into getting it fixed immediately like most mechanics. He picks up when you call the first time, he does what he says hes going to do, and he does it all in a very timely matter. He doesnt cut corners and was a professional about every aspect of service he provides. I would recommend matt at M and W Auto repairs to anyone looking for a trustworthy, honest, professional, affordable mechanic. He is proficient at his job and it shows when you get your car back. Ive never dealt with a mechanic like that before. He is honestly one of a kind. I know I will be bringing my business to him and hopefully this review helps anyone looking for a mechanic in the Buffalo area like I was. Like I said there was never any BS dealing with it. Hailey Byrne: I don’t like to do this to other businesses, but I am fearful if I don’t someone else will be faced with similar problems. I recently took my car to RCR Auto for a New York State inspection and was left extremely disappointed with the experience. Initially, I was told my car wouldn’t pass inspection due to a disconnected joint on the suspension. They quoted $150 to fix it, which I agreed to. It’s worth noting that when I pulled in, there were no warning lights on in my car. After they completed the repair and drove the car around the block, I was handed back my vehicle with a new inspection sticker, but now with both the ABS and traction control lights on. I immediately walked back in and asked about it. They told me it was a wheel speed sensor issue, said it was safe to drive, and asked me to return in two days so they could fix it. When I returned, the story changed. Now instead of a wheel speed sensor, they claimed there was an issue with my wheel bearing and quoted me a repair cost of over $500. At that point, I brought the issue to my fiancé. After he called and spoke with them, they agreed to fix it for the cost of the parts only, waiving the price of labor. However, I later had the car evaluated by a different, trusted shop. They found no issue with the wheel bearing whatsoever, no excessive sway, no abnormal noise, and no reason to believe it needed replacement. In addition, the l assessment of my vehicle noted the part they added should have been greased and it was not. Evidently, the problem was the speed sensor all along. Once the new shop discussed this with us, a $37 part from the dealership and 20 minutes of labor turned every light off and the car is driving like it’s brand new. I’m sharing this because if I didn’t have support and resources to double-check their claims, I likely would’ve paid for an unnecessary repair. Be careful trusting this business my experience raises serious concerns about their transparency and honesty.

Joe Wedge: First time customer, from the minute I called in an emergency Nolan assured me everything would be ok and quickly had my Jeep towed to the shop after it died blocking traffic. I kept putting off the repair and just got used to the noisy muffler but needed an inspection. Then started having electrical problems. When it just shut off I went into panick mode. All I saw was $$$, Nolan called me first thing the next morning and said they immediately identified the electrical issue, faulty wiring job that was done so poorly is was dangerous, they photographed everything so I could possibly recover some money from U-Haul for the after market trailer hitch they installed. He explained it wouldn’t pass inspection because of the exhaust and I knew I couldn’t afford a new system, but before I could even tell him that he said my Jeep was in excellent condition and hard to believe it had the mileage on it that it did. He suggested a retro fit for the exhaust that would last and save me a ton of money, and it would pass the inspection. They gave my entire jeep a once over and a list of minor things that could be taken care of at a later time along with cost estimates broken down. They had my Jeep back to me in less than 24 hours, when it started it sounded and drove like it was brand new. Jennifer was also great with customer service when I called back with a stupid question. Customer for life now!

Brought them a wheel bearing and was told it was the wrong part - it was not. They didn’t even bother replacing it despite telling me they would do it with a part they had. I dealt only with the owners.
