1 /5 Sandra Chung: Ive had consistently frustrating experiences with this dental office. They frequently try to upsell unnecessary products like MI paste or other random items, which always feels uncomfortable and pushy.
Last year, I was told I needed two crowns. I trusted their recommendation, but unfortunately, my insurance disagreed—stating the procedures weren’t medically necessary. Despite having excellent dental insurance, I ended up paying over $1,000 out of pocket annually.
I asked the office to submit an appeal, which they did, and it was denied with a request for more information. I followed up and was told a second appeal would be submitted. Months went by with no word from my insurance, and when I checked in with the office again, they told me it wasn’t their responsibility to handle appeals and that I should do it myself.
How exactly am I supposed to appeal when the insurance is asking for clinical documentation to prove necessity—something only the dentist can provide? Clearly, they never submitted the second appeal and didn’t want to admit it. Only after pushing back did they begrudgingly agree to file it.
I’ve never had to fight so hard for basic patient support, nor been met with such attitude. Because of this experience, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
