5 /5 Aaron Wilson: Nice quiet park in syracuses Southside. Clean and majestic with a trout stream going through it by the name of Furnace Brook with some nice Brook trout in it. Have gone for a quiet walk midday and seen deer grazing. One even tried to come up to us years ago but we kept our distance. Definitely worth a visit.

5 /5 Thomas Nami: A great little gem in the city of Syracuse! Furnace Creek runs through this park with little waterfalls along its path. There is a stone bridge and many stone stairways to explore. If you like a mini hike, there are some short trails to hike on as well. There is a park playground for the children and picnic tables scattered around the park too. There is a small parking lot. There are paved paths that may be good for biking although they are not very long and are not well maintained.

5 /5 Janis Nolan: Beautiful park in the heart of Syracuse Southwest side. There are trails through the woods with beautiful stone staircases. A lovely creek with lots of little waterfalls and bridges. Parking was in front by the baseball fields when I last visited. Very beautiful!

5 /5 Theresa Kusak-Smith: The park is long and narrow bordered by hills on either side, with a beautiful cascading Brook running through it. The sound of the Brook bouncing off the hills on either side is fantastic. It’s a sweet spot for a walk or a quiet sit by the Brook to restore one’s self.

Baltimore Woods Nature Center - Marcellus

Crystal Wolfe: This Nature Center is absolutely gorgeous! The woods there are beautiful. They have a live turtle named Fern and lots of birds to view. Their gift shop is nice and they have a great winter Market once a month. Come check it out!

Clinton Square Ice Rink - Syracuse

Kathy P: We took a day trip and walked around Clinton Square when the water wasnt frozen. It is a lovely area with beautiful buildings surrounding it. It would be great to see on the winter time with ice and snow.

Franklin Square Park - Syracuse

Dan Marafino: One of the nicest areas of the city. Plan on competing with wedding shoots and prom shoots in their respective seasons on the weekends. Theres a very small piece of paper on the edge of the park that will tell you when its rented out. Nice place to relax and read a book or just hang out. Safe area, coffee shop right across the street, and plenty of seating.

Erie Canal Monument - Syracuse

Cyndi McNamara: Nice bike path along Erie Blvd - Monument at the corner of Teall. Would like to see a historical marker or plaque to explain the monument and pieces of stone along the way. Nothing as of June 2021.

Far Shot Syracuse (Axe Throwing, Archery, and Knife) - Syracuse

Ebony Finn: Bill is a great help! Makes it fun, and encouraging. Great vibes, and instructions. Had my first experience, and definitely will be coming back. He also gave us some cool perks for my birthday. Definitely recommend! Very welcoming and inviting!

Ny State fair - Syracuse

Miriam Rose: I enjoyed the fair a lot this year. The dinosaur exhibit was so fun to take my son to. The food didn’t disappoint at the eatery as well. My one suggestion is to park in parking lots or get a ride because the shuttles have long lines and with traffic, you can be waiting awhile to leave the fair. Luckily this year we got a ride to and from the fair.

Three Falls Woods - Manlius

Chan Komagan: Located in Dewitt/Manlius outside Syracuse, three falls woods is a good place for some hiking and connecting with nature. When you get to the intersection you take a right and walk all the way up to the top passing a few waterfalls (they are not that big) and you can loop around and come back to the bottom. The whole hike can be done in 30 minutes.

Long Branch Park - Liverpool

Donny B: Neat park venue that I used to go sledding at when I was a kid. Lots of neat events like Bavarian Fest, and the Scottish Games I have gone to for many years. A quiet place for a walk and a picnic here as well with their pavilions and fireplaces.

Prose the Writer: My fiancee and I found this set of steps and have committed to getting in shape together utilizing them. The are 8 flights of 18-25 steps each. The area is shaded by trees and very serene. Upon reaching the top, one can celebrated and take a victory lap around the circle before heading back down. I would caution potential users to be cognizant of their footing as some stairs are broken and debris falls on them as well.
