Some might sugar coat their experience but for real, I am very cynical and truly am not benefitting from this comment. Im really not that nice, but I am honest. Wish more existed like the owner. Dont know why but service at other venues have been sub standard as of late, but this guy didnt get the memo. He is very honorable and I am using him again this week! Ill let you know how it goes!!

5 /5 C J: I didnt get work done at this shop. My review is specifically directed at the overall integrity of the shop owner. I hope of you read this review, you consider this location for service. Support local! Thats how we lift S. Buffalo up. I am currently a systems analyst for a Fortune 500 company.I am a PMI certified associate project manager with a degree from an aacsb accredited business school. In June 2023, I was involved in a serious car accident across the street from this shop. There was a city of buffalo surveillance camera that should have caught the accident but the city camera was out of order.The owner of this shop was kind enough to share video surveillance. The owner of this business has a level of integrity I rarely see in my city anymore!!! This business owner took care to properly secure his property in my city thereby securing all the neighbors around him. Imagine if that was a child walking across the street when the car ran the red light. Instead of me getting hit, it could have been a child taken from my community and because our city camera at that intersection didnt work there would have been no record of what happened. Not just lip service, this business owner embodies the city of good neighbors!! I wouldnt have been able to see what even happened to me without this business. No one else would have been able to look back at what happened to me either which would have made it difficult to get the medical help I needed. I am forever grateful for this shop owner! I hope that our community continues to support his business because if he was there for us (people he never met), I can only imagine the effort and thought that goes into caring for his customers.

First attempt callingToyota dealership: $354 for diagnostic, $110 for labor, $55 for the part. “Can I apply diagnostic charge to the rest of the cost? Toyota: no. Sweeney‘s auto: “ Your fuses were in the wrong place. $46.” I also had an additional cigarette lighter that was pointed out and didn’t know I had. Sweeney’s Auto is an honest and very efficient garage and it’s been there since 1948. Justin was incredibly nice. A welcoming place. I booked an appointment. I was only there for about 40 minutes.

Michael Koenig: I very rarely give reviews good or bad but I had to make an exception for Matt at M and w was referred to Matt after asking the North Buffalo Facebook page if anyone can recommend a mobile mechanic or local mechanic. And Matt was referred to me. I reached out to him that day. I told him about the problems I need fixed on two of my vehicles. He was able to give me an estimate that included parts and labor and one that just included labor hours. Within minutes of talking to him.And from the very first conversation there was never no BS dealing with him. He was able to work around my schedule and understood I couldnt go without my vehicle for more than one day. Matt was able to do a complete break rotor and caliper job on both axles of my 2005 Chevy trailblazer. By the time I was done shopping when I drop the car off to him after hours. He works in a very timely matter, and his prices beat all other shops I called for estimates after speaking with him.He doesnt try to upsell or generate more work but he will tell you if he notices something should be fixed but doesnt try to scare you into getting it fixed immediately like most mechanics. He picks up when you call the first time, he does what he says hes going to do, and he does it all in a very timely matter. He doesnt cut corners and was a professional about every aspect of service he provides. I would recommend matt at M and W Auto repairs to anyone looking for a trustworthy, honest, professional, affordable mechanic. He is proficient at his job and it shows when you get your car back. Ive never dealt with a mechanic like that before. He is honestly one of a kind. I know I will be bringing my business to him and hopefully this review helps anyone looking for a mechanic in the Buffalo area like I was. Like I said there was never any BS dealing with it. Hailey Byrne: I don’t like to do this to other businesses, but I am fearful if I don’t someone else will be faced with similar problems. I recently took my car to RCR Auto for a New York State inspection and was left extremely disappointed with the experience. Initially, I was told my car wouldn’t pass inspection due to a disconnected joint on the suspension. They quoted $150 to fix it, which I agreed to. It’s worth noting that when I pulled in, there were no warning lights on in my car. After they completed the repair and drove the car around the block, I was handed back my vehicle with a new inspection sticker, but now with both the ABS and traction control lights on. I immediately walked back in and asked about it. They told me it was a wheel speed sensor issue, said it was safe to drive, and asked me to return in two days so they could fix it. When I returned, the story changed. Now instead of a wheel speed sensor, they claimed there was an issue with my wheel bearing and quoted me a repair cost of over $500. At that point, I brought the issue to my fiancé. After he called and spoke with them, they agreed to fix it for the cost of the parts only, waiving the price of labor. However, I later had the car evaluated by a different, trusted shop. They found no issue with the wheel bearing whatsoever, no excessive sway, no abnormal noise, and no reason to believe it needed replacement. In addition, the l assessment of my vehicle noted the part they added should have been greased and it was not. Evidently, the problem was the speed sensor all along. Once the new shop discussed this with us, a $37 part from the dealership and 20 minutes of labor turned every light off and the car is driving like it’s brand new. I’m sharing this because if I didn’t have support and resources to double-check their claims, I likely would’ve paid for an unnecessary repair. Be careful trusting this business my experience raises serious concerns about their transparency and honesty.
