06-2025 Holy Land Replica in Hight rate 6 location for tourist in Mayville, NY, USAChautauqua Belle - Mayville George Lodick: The Belle was a great location for my sons wedding rehearsal dinner cruise. The setting on beautiful Lake Chautauqua and the pleasant late summer weather made for a wonderful start to this marriage weekend.
The staff was wonderful and the sights on the lake were amazing. They provide an interesting history of the famous Chautauqua Institution as we cruised the south side of the lake.
Being in a boat in the water is always a good time and the Chautauqua Belle is a great way to enjoy a few hours on beautiful Lake Chautauqua.
Pearl Gravit Memorial Park - Mayville Gilkinson Sorena (Lic. R.E. Salesperson): Such a great place! New updates to the field have been made and it looks great! A nice pavilion for a picnic or activities area, nice restrooms and concession stand. 2 fields for people to use and lots of green space.
Panama Rocks Scenic Park - Panama Amanda Stohl: Decided to make a spur of the moment overnight trip with my daughter. We had a blast glamping. The accommodations were perfect. Comfortable and spacious. We will be back!! 100/10
Miller Bell Tower - Chautauqua Hildy Eppel Hassman: A quaint stop to admire the houses and calm waters. The bell chimes on each quarter of the hour which was lovely to hear. We walked and relaxed a bit - took some pics.
Chautauqua Institution - Mayville Brandon Whittemore: Reminds me of Carmel, CA. Have not attended any events other than a Jurasic Park showing at the amputheater accumpined by an orchestra for the soundtrack. This place was developed to be the "perfect community". I was half expecting to see the Stepford Wives. I did enjoy the area. Plan on attending some events this summer. Be warned, the Brick Walk Cafe has low standards for the quality of the food served.
Mark Twains Study - Elmira Theresa St. John: Awesome place to visit - who hasnt read at least one of his books??? Very small and simple, but wonderful to go inside and stand where he stood, look out the windows where he gazed off into the distance while he wrote about life. Docents share the history from May to October. Hours are posted on the door and website. Cool piece of history on the college graounds.
Arnot Art Museum - Elmira Lake Kubilius: Small place, but an art lovers gem in the heart of Elmira. Some extremely high quality pieces in a very quiet place. Excellent for a quick, thoughtful stroll with no crowds.
Eldridge Park - Elmira 彥萱Ann (Ann): A nice little park to hang out at - enjoy some rides, mini golf, food, paddle boats .... ☺️
John W. Jones Museum - Elmira Nancy Shumway: What a wonderful little piece of history. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Our tour guide Cleveland was extremely knowledgeable and made all these facts interesting. He was friendly and seemed to truly enjoy sharing the life of John W. Jones with us. Take the time to stop and visit. You wont be disappointed.
