  • Emmy Nail - Brooklyn
S P: I’ve only been here once, but I’m so thrilled with how my nails came out. I feel like I’m walking around little works of art and have received so many compliments. Daisy is a true artist and so talented. I came in with two different reference photos and wanted elements from each incorporated into the design. Daisy executed this flawlessly, and even made some suggestions that made it look even better. Highly recommend Emmy Nail and Daisy!
    Eco Nail Spa - Brooklyn
Carolina Hernandez: I had a gone to another studio for gelx and they really botched the design & hurt my fingers. I came here to get it fixed and they were so kind and understanding. They really listened to what I wanted and were so careful with my fingers. I am posting this now after my second time and got gelx with them. Discovered that gelx application did not have to be painful as they made the process completely painless. They were thorough and attentive to making the design I asked for. One design didn’t come out right but when I went the next day, they were gracious and fixed it without hesitation. I truly have found my new go to nail salon. I am so grateful especially because it is close to home and they put alot of care into their work and making their clients happy.
miGak nail art table - Brooklyn
Jamiee Nathaniel: I have been going to miGak since 2018 and the service and quality has always been consistent and stellar. Typically, I see Shizuka, and to say she is talented would be an understatement! Any idea I show her, she is seamlessly able to recreate, and I also can never go wrong with one of her freestyle designs. All her designs are perfectly hand painted, and I get compliments all the time. She is a gem!!! Will always trust her with my nails whether it’s everyday or the biggest occasions.
    Tsou Beauty Lounge - Brooklyn
Tya Arnold: i went in for a pedicure and left with SCRATCHES AND WELTS all over the top of my feet and they refuse to refund me for the inconvenience and harm. not sure of the tech’s name, illhana maybe? she wears a hijab- who was very kind and gave me a good polishing job but ultimately used the tool wrong. maybe my skin is sensitive, but i don’t think so- a pumice stone shouldn’t be used for bodily skin- only the soles of feet. at the time of the service i felt a slight irritation after the scrub but i didn’t mention it after because i thought that it would go away, but waking up the next morning, my feet were raw and full of scratches! my feet look god awful!! to make matters worse, the manager was very condescending and made statements that allude to me lying about this by saying that ā€˜they ran back footage and saw that i left satisfied.’ i was satisfied at that point because the scratches and pain hadn’t been as apparent, which i told her and they still insist that i dont deserve a refund and can only come in for another discounted service. its one thing to mess up, we’re all human, but to try to put blame and not take some accountability after causing literal BODILY HARM is just terrible business ethics. really shows the lack of empathy. save your money and go elsewhere!!!
    Hey Healthy Nail - Brooklyn
Kristina & Talisa Smith-Justice: Ive been going to Hey Healthy Nail for a few months now, and I have to say, Im impressed! I first heard about the salon through an Instagram post. Its a quiet, clean, and relaxing environment. Every time I go, my nails come out looking fantastic. The quality of work is always top-notch, and I love that they use non-toxic, natural polish. I should also note that my wife now goes there for her manicures, too, and shes equally happy with the results. Were so glad we found a local salon we love and will continue to return to. We highly recommend them!
    Studio Nicki Spice - Brooklyn
Karine: Loyal customer since late 2020. Ive tried other places when my schedule doesnt match and I have yet to find a better salon. Black owned, owner and staff is welcoming and just amazing. And they care about the health of your nails. I always get the sofe gel overlay. My brittle nails thrive in their care
Cobble Nails & Spa - Brooklyn
James McMurray: I finished a hard day planting bulbs on my hands and knees. I was a little embarrassed at the state if my hands so I opted for a pedicure. Coco was so focused and soothing to my tired ole feet. The salon is so clean. The ladies dont talk too loud or too much. Some soothing music would be nice. The chair massage seemed new and was amazing. My feet feel great. More self care from now on . Once a month. Thank you ladies. The hot tea was lovely.
    Posh Nails - Brooklyn
Tynisha Wynder: Great experience here! Noticed right away it doesnt have the chemically smell when you first walk in, which was great. Everyone is greeted upon entering and I noticed that there were regulars that were known by name. I got a basic manicure and it was the first time my tween got tips. Im a super protective mo so I had a lot of questions. Sally was so patient and kind answering all my questions and guiding me to what would be the best option for her. My daughter was so pleased with how they turned out! I was too! My daughter said she wants to come back for her birthday. I will be back for a pedicure soon!
    Pure Nail Salon - Brooklyn
Franki King: I went on the recommendation of my mother and pictures I’ve seen from their Instagram account. Contacted them at first for an appointment but was told walk-ins are welcomed. They ONLY accept cash so ensure to bring cash. I was serviced by Ming for a hard gel refill. She removed my old set before applying the new one. Her nail care service (cleaning and cutting cuticles) was better than some of the images I’ve seen. Personally I was not happy how she applied the gel as there are some areas that the gel color is light/missing. Or it does not look like a natural set as the gel is 1cm from my cuticle. She applied the gelish foundation then placed my hand under the UV/led light. Next were 2 separate coats of the gel color—this is where sections were missing or light then followed by the hard gel. Once this cured/dried she placed the remover liquid to ensure the stickiness was off my nail then placed a hot towel followed by lotion. I forgot to mention she ask how long/short I preferred my nail and once she removed my old set she had me wash my hands at the sink. Also I would suggest you make an appointment depending on the time you show up. Within 15-min of sitting/waiting there was an influx of people that showed up which pushed all service wait time to 40-minutes!
    Millennial Nails - Brooklyn
Sonya Hooks: I needed a last-minute nail appointment because I wasn’t able to get to my regular technician in Manhattan. I have been wanting to patronize this place because it’s only a few blocks from my house (and from what I know black-woman owned) but the two other times I inquired they didn’t have appointments available. On a whim, I called them and they said I could come right in. I had dip powder that needed to be soaked off and a couple of broken nails - so needed my nails cut down and I opted for a simple gel manicure to get me right. Carla, a new technician there, took care of me. And for a last minute appointment, she did a pretty good job. She was friendly and attentive - gave a great hand scrub and a strong hand massage- not something I normally receive as a very regular nail salon goer and didn’t realize how much I would enjoy that as part of my service. All in all, it was a good experience. It’s nice to know this option exists in the neighborhood. Dings for not giving 5 stars, not the newest nor most updated salon, had me wondering about the cleanliness. I wasn’t offered any nail chips to choose a nail color, so I had to wing it by looking at the bottles- which is not the easiest with gel polish bottles. Because my technician was new there, she wasn’t sure about the price structure, so I worried slightly that the price I was quoted might have been inflated. But again, like I said, overall, it was a good experience and I would go again.
