Rays Service Center - Watertown (NY)

1 /5 Ry: Terrible. Thieves and bullies. My registration was suspended, my fault yes. I didnt realize it. Got pulled over and my car got towed to Rays. The police assured me I would be able to collect my personal belongings the next day when the shop was open. I went the next day to get my stuff and politely (embarrasedly) explained the situation and immediately the guy in the office was rude and loud with me and said he didnt have to give me anything. Told me to come back when I had the almost $500 (!! Towed less than a mile) to get my car. After I started crying and begged him to please let me get my debit card and my phone so I could get the money I needed he begrudgingly agreed as long as I was fast. He said he had seen my phone in the console and moved it to the passenger seat (why?). Phone was nowhere to be found and he changed his story to "Oh that was the car next to you". I started frantically searching for my phone and he literally shouted at me to "hurry up and get out of there". I explained the police said I could collect my things and he said he didnt care, get out. Phone was nowhere to be found so I asked for my laptop and he refused. He walked up on me (100 lb female) and told me to move and slammed my car door shut. Wouldnt give me back my spare fob I had given him when I arrived and kept saying it wasnt mine despite me having the only Audi in the small lot and having handed it to him less than 5 minutes earlier. I wound up having to snatch it back off his desk when he turned around and I locked my car back up with it on my way out. Wound up having my lending company reposess the car so I could get all my stuff and pay a lower amount to them to get my car back. Also the debit card that was in the car had to be frozen and replaced due to multiple, more than 10, unrecognized charges attempted within 24 hours of my car being towed. Unreal.

5 /5 Austin Taylor: Got caught in the snow storm and had my first accident going off the road. Not only did these guys make it less painful, they were amazing to chat with and kept the mood light which I appreciated. Im not from the area so they came to tow me out and Im beyond greatful. Plus the prices were great in comparison to what normal tow companies would charge. Would 10/10 call again if anything happens in that area. A++ service!

5 /5 Casey Weed: I am not a review giving person but I feel this shop deserves five stars and beyond. I had taken my car to several places in Watertown over the course of six months. I kept getting the run around and throwing money at labor and parts that MAY fix the unknown issues. I dropped my car off at Ray’s at 8:30 in the morning and I received a phone call three hours later letting me know exactly what was wrong, the total and the parts would be ordered and my car would be done in a day. This shop has gone above and beyond for me and I wouldn’t recommend any other mechanic in the area to work on your vehicle!

1 /5 Kesh Blank: My sons alternator went out. My son knows nothing about how places like this scam people so he had his car towed before he told me.. apparently it takes 5 1/2 to change the alternator. My father was a mechanic growing up and brother in law is now and we KNOW it takes an hour to replace his alternator. They said they had to order the part and would be here today and it was $250. Thats BS! We called AutoZone last night and it was $140. So theres $100 right there to start. . He called them this morning at the minute of opening to stop them from doing the work but how ironic that its all done?! Wait the part was coming in today right? Did I miss something.. they told him they found one in Watertown yesterday and his mechanic was there til 8 oclock last night and he cant pick it up for another hour and a half this morning because they are charging the battery! Well isnt that what the alternator is for? And there was nothing wrong with the battery. . Hmmm my son paid $750 this morning to get his car back! He paid for 4 hours of labor that WAS NOT done to his car!!! I do not recommend anyone going to this shop unless you know what your doing because a guy like this preys on people who know nothing about mechanics!...and lets not forget its Christmas! Im posting this all over Watertown and I hope they lose business from it. At least $400 worth!

1 /5 Jlsteph: Called these guys because my wife had a stalled car at the Aldis entrance on arsenal street. She was stuck in the middle of the intersection. By the way, thanks to all you fools that sat there, blowing your horns at a distressed woman whose car was broken down and yelling obscene stuff at her. Especially the labcorp driver who was a real a22 hole. Wish I had been there! I called several towing companies and they said it would be an hour! I called Rays and was told " yes we can be there in just a few minutes". I said " o thank you so much. I will pay you whatever you want just help her " I was told " we will call you in about 15 minutes and get to her." An hour later, I called rays again. Luckily some very nice firefighters had stopped and pushed her into the parking lot. Whoever you guys are I owe you a beer. Rays had not called. I called Rays again, they said" o no one has called you yet? I will have them call you right now. " another hour later, no call. I got a baby sitter to watch my grand children, and got my wife home by myself. She sat in that parking lot for 3 hours. This wonderful experience started at 1206 pm when I called Rays. Its now 6:35 pm and Rays has still not called me back.!!!!!!!! Now its 9: 30 !! Im so glad I didnt relay on you a22 holes to help my wife.
