5 /5 Marchelle: Kotomi has been cutting and dyeing my hair for the past year or so. She is incredibly talented, always producing high quality results. I have naturally fine, brown hair and she successfully takes me to a platinum blonde without causing any damage. Ive been bleaching my hair for almost 10 years across at least a dozen stylists, and Kotomi has done the best job of anyone. Kotomi also gave me the best haircut I have EVER had - exactly what I wanted. She does a great job of seeing the vision and bringing it to life. She is also careful, precise, and gentle while still producing results more quickly than most stylists are able to. I never even think about going somewhere else. I have also had my hair done once by Limi and had a similar experience! I was very happy with the color and cut. Highly recommend Room Salon.

5 /5 Danielle Wu: Mayuu has been cutting my hair for years, and I always appreciated so much her sensitivity, bubbly spirit, and technical mastery at digital perms. The cuts here are worth the expense because the grow out is seamless, and I only end up coming 1-2 times a year. I rarely feel compelled to leave business reviews, but Room has been so consistently good to me that its the least I can do to show my support and pray they stay open forever. I especially appreciate the nurturing environment that has been cultivated there, from the staff that seems to genuinely support each other down to the lovely artwork scattered throughout. Whats better than getting pampered amid plants and soothing music? I cant wait to come back soon :)

Not only is this place very affordable and fairly priced (which is rare in NYC), but an amazing high end cut. Love the way my hair turned out and cant wait to go back!

Phoebe Alman: Been going to this salon for a couple years I will never go anywhere else!! I had tried so many other stylists but they never seemed to execute the vision I had in mind. But Crissel always manages to give me exactly what I want and I’m always blown away by the results! Not only is she super friendly and fun to talk to, shes also great at personalizing your desired look for your hair type. Always gives me the best recommendations for hair products and hair styles. Never letting anyone else touch my hair again!

Jonathan B: I visited Lotus for a simple, no-frills haircut—just a 1.5 on the sides and a light trim on top. Frank, the stylist (and owner), instead gave me an extremely short and uneven fade. I had to repeatedly point out areas that needed correction, but the results only got worse. Things escalated quickly. When I saw the haircut going south, I told Frank to stop and that I wouldnt be paying. At that point, he locked the front door, got in my face, and aggressively demanded payment. He even told me to take off my glasses—implying he wanted to fight. Not wanting to escalate the situation, I asked how much he was charging, and he demanded $40—despite my previous haircuts at this salon costing around $25. He refused to show me a price list and yelled that he could charge whatever he wanted because it was his store. Feeling trapped, I paid the $40 just to get out of there. Only then did he unlock the door. As I was leaving, I warned an approaching customer to stay away—Frank responded by cursing me out. I strongly urge anyone considering this salon to stay far away, especially from Frank. Not only is he a terrible stylist, but he is also unprofessional, aggressive, and dishonest. Avoid this place at all costs.

When I Went to a Hermie, she told there was not need for the chop ( so glad because I really wasn’t ready for it) she did a treatment and gave me a silk press and I’m so happy how it turned out.
