Jess and Ryan were a pleasure to work with as usual. They arrived on time and everything moved on pace throughout the day, which helped make for a stress-free environment for a very excited and anxious bride and her bridal party. My bridal hair came out absolutely perfect and I looked the way I had always hoped I would on my wedding day! I would highly recommend Aria Salon to for any bridal party! Ali is a truly talented bridal makeup artist, and Im not just saying that because shes my sister. I honestly wouldnt have trusted anyone else with my bridal makeup on my wedding day, and Ali gave me the look I had always dreamed of! I felt so beautiful and truly like a bride when I looked in the mirror. My makeup styed perfectly all day and night, and photographed beautifully. Ali always makes 10000% sure that you like what she did with your face and wont settle for anything less than your complete satisfaction. She doesnt take offense to critique or asking her to make slight changes. She wants you to be perfectly happy with how you look. Shes my number one recommendation for bridal makeup without hesitation!

Blair Pearce I have been fortunate to have Ryan and Jess as my glam squad for the last 17 years! I started seeing Ryan in 2005, and Jess joined her shortly there after. They both had me looking my best for prom, bridal shower, my wedding, and more! Jess and Ryan have an eye for perfection and want their clients to leave happy, and looking/feeling great. They are consistent and will be honest in their recommendations.

I wanted to ask Nikki some questions about coloring my hair because I’m very allergic to bleach but I was born to have purple hair and missed having it so much. I get compliments on my hair, but I can’t take credit, except that I made the best decision to have Dani. She also volunteers her time and does hair for those less fortunate! She is truly a gem of a person and I love her!

Heather Mooney As a longtime resident of Boston and recent newcomer to CNY, I was a bit nervous about leaving my beloved hairdressers and finding another one in Syracuse, especially with my wavy/curly hair. While I let my hair go as long as possible, the time had come to take the plunge. A quick Google search pointed me to Dani. To be honest, I didn’t really know what to expect - her reviews were excellent but weren’t super curly specific, and I had barely explored Syracuse at all, much less the salon/beauty scene in the city. However, from the moment I walked into the door, Dani was truly amazing (and so adorable and sweet!). The building and decor/aesthetic of "The Fortress" is so much fun (in her studio space and her coworkers). Danis energy is infectious, engaging, and she’s incredibly generous — not just with her witty conversation, kindness, and admirable hair/beauty skills, but with her wine as well :) While I’ve only been in the area for ~8 months, this was definitely one of the best outings I have had so far. I really felt welcome to The Fortress and the neighborhood, which is great as a mid-30s newcomer excited to meet people familiar with the area. While the experience itself was a treat, my hair looks amazing! I asked for the nearly impossible task of maintaining length while increasing volume and she did just that. After moving around with the military for over 20 years and going to high end salons in NYC and New Jersey, I can honestly say that Stefanie is a master of her craft. Lisa Mitchell Stephanie has been my stylist for about 20 years and has seen me through every stage of my hair journey. She is an artist with color, and never more so than with the grey blending she just did for me. Having made the decision to embrace my new color and letting it grow, I desperately need something to hide the line between former color and new natural me. Steph worked a miracle without killing my hair with chemicals and it looks great!!! Adding some layers removed some of the old and color covered the rest. Heidi J Made my daughter’s Prom hair appointment 2 months in advance. The day of Prom she goes to get her hair done and there’s no one in the salon! 3 hours before Prom time! Apparently the stylist texted my daughter to confirm that morning. (My daughter never got the text so she must have had the wrong number) Since the stylist did not hear back she just blew it off. Wouldn’t you think that for an important event like that, you would be at the shop at the appointed time just to be sure?! Very poor customer service, and we won’t be back. It’s sad since we were longtime customers for 3 girls. An update to this post: the owner Renee did call me to sincerely apologize and explain that she was out of town and felt terrible that the stylist did not keep her appointment. She offered to make it up to us. So I don’t want to slam the salon, they’ve been great over the years. I just won’t go to that particular stylist!

M A Been going to Art of Hair for as long as they have been open. The owner ( Ashley) and the team of hair stylists are family friendly. Scott has been cutting and trimming my sons hair since he was a baby. I think the new location has so much potential than where they were previously and should be able to get a lot of foot traffic as well, now people can see where they are on the first floor. Parking is no problem either.

She didnt force him to sit in a chair, especially when he got scared, and worked around his uneasiness to deliver a great haircut. After multiple trips back he now sits in my lap with a cape draped over us and allows Debi to cut his hair without fidgeting.
