YU LI: I’ve been training here for four months now, and I honestly didn’t realize how fast time has flown. Thinking back, it’s all because of the incredible training environment — and of course, my favorite coach, the one and only Gia. Everyone here is not only focused on their own training, but they’re also always ready to lend a helping hand when you need it. People notice your progress and give you timely encouragement and support, which motivates you to push even harder. You’ll often see members gather around discussing form, asking questions, and sharing tips on how to better activate certain muscle groups. But I have to dedicate a special part of this to my LOVE: my coach, Gia. I actually found this gym because I saw her training photos on social media. Her physique is the very definition of my dream body, and I’ve been working hard to move closer to that goal. During class, she always comes in with a well-designed plan. She demonstrates every move first, explains which part of the muscle you should focus on, and points out the common mistakes. When you start, she constantly cues you on where to focus. If your form starts to change a bit, she immediately corrects you. She also knows exactly when you’re reaching your limit and steps in at just the right moment. She recognizes your improvements, praises you when you deserve it, and also tells you which weak areas you still need to strengthen. Outside of class, she’s an absolute sweetheart — witty, warm, and generous. Talking to her always feels joyful and relaxing. In short, I love Gia, and I love IO!

Nekemma Senior: I took a class with Deandre and it was an amazing experience! He was super encouraging and always made sure to assist us whenever we needed help. He really paid attention to our individual needs and adjusted the intensity of the workout accordingly. His energy was infectious, I absolutely loved it! I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Robina Khalid: Though Im someone whos always loved to work out, Im not exactly a gym bro. I’m a nerdy queer mom of 4 in my 40s! But Ive belonged to a LOT of gyms over the last couple of decades, and I have to say that Speakeasy of Strength is by far my favorite of all time.  The programming is incredibly smart, creative, and fun -- as a health care provider I am genuinely impressed with how much obvious education, understanding of the human body, and thought and care goes into them. They are challenging but you never leave them wanting to die. This is not a balls-to-the-wall machismo kind of workout...its one that is nurturing and playful even as it is effective and strengthening. The coaches are phenomenal -- attentive, encouraging, and great at cueing and feedback, as well as modifications.  Its amazing how they will help adapt workouts to different peoples needs and mobility with encouragement, curiosity, and creativity.  You can just tell how much the entire staff cares about and invests in all members. They are inclusive, welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental.  And all of that radiate through the entire community because Steve and the coaches cultivate it among the members too.  Its a genuinely FUN place to workout. All in all, this is a gem of a gym. Good workouts, good people. Highly recommended.

Life Time - New York
Marissa Rivera: It’s a nice gym but not worth the almost $350. I usually go to Wall Street or dumbo but this location is very mid it felt like a LA Fitness which nothing wrong with LA fitness i had a membership there for a long time but I don’t want that feel for the price I’m paying. I went Sunday at around 5 and it was pretty empty but that’s not a busy time anyways. Clean locker / bathroom area and the yoga studio was nice. Not many classes on Sunday here.

Christian Marquez: “Worst salesmen ever!” I had this kid with pimples on his face at the front desk and try to sell me the subscription. And he compelled blew the sale, I was the most hot and ready lead. I came in ready to buy and I left with nothing. After an hour!!! Of him “running the numbers” and “checking management” then “calling the supervisor” he finally gave me the iPad to sign up. I was halfway done and then he took it away and called someone else and offered me a plan a didn’t want and how the plan I originally wanted was gone. I left in that moment and I was 30 seconds away from finishing the form and signing up. I wanted to pay in ful and upfront and even called before going to see if they had a deal. The said yes and to come in, and I left with nothing. I can’t believe me wouldn’t sell me the program. I was ready to buy and anybody could have closed me in 5 minutes. No wonder the gym has 3 stars, it all starts with the front desk.

Jimbo Baggins: tmpl Hells kitchen, without a doubt, the best gym experience I have ever had, and it’s the perfect fitness sanctuary right here in Hells Kitchen. It doesn’t feel like a gym; it feels like an exclusive, high-tech wellness center. From the stunning, modern design to the mood lighting, the atmosphere is genuinely motivating. The equipment is absolutely top-of-the-line, meticulously maintained, and there is an incredible volume and variety of machines—I have never had to wait for a squat rack or a cardio machine, even during the evening rush. They have dedicated zones for every kind of training imaginable. The real differentiator, though, is the full-sized indoor saltwater pool. Having an Olympic-style lane pool in the middle of Manhattan is a luxury that makes the membership worth it alone. The locker rooms are equally premium—spotless, spacious, and equipped with great amenities. The staff and trainers are consistently professional, welcoming, and helpful. If you’re looking to truly invest in a premium, results-driven health experience in NYC, tmpl is the gold standard and easily earns my five-star recommendation!

Abegail Farahan: I absolutely love training at Boss! From the moment I first walked in, everyone was incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. The atmosphere is positive and encouraging! I’ve been training with Ed, and he’s been nothing short of amazing. He’s knowledgeable, motivating, and really takes the time to tailor workouts to my goals while pushing me to give my best. Ed creates a perfect balance between challenging me and making training fun, which keeps me coming back!
