The truck was in the shop for more than two months never got to fixed, they didn’t know what to do. I would recommend think twice before you go to this mechanic shop.

Andrew C Took my truck in to have catalytic converters replaced and a new exhaust installed. Truck has been there for 3 weeks the 1st week it sat there untouched. The mechanic was not very forthcoming in keeping me updated on what was being done, changed the throttle body charged $300 for the part, I couldve gotten the same part for $140, I replaced all 4 O2 sensors prior to bring it in. They said one was malfunctioning. Charged me $74 for one O2 sensors. When I bought 4 for $99, changed the thermostat housing charged me $90 for the part I didnt ask them to change the thermostat. As I have the part already and paid $24 for the part. Im guessing you can see where this is going. They then told me I needed a fuel pump for $700, I ordered the same fuel pump for $112. I then decided to get my truck and end this 3 week long disappointment and just finish the repair myself. I was charged $1589 for a truck they allegedly did troubleshooting on for 2 weeks yet wee clueless as to what the problem was. Nothing done solved the issue of rough idle and stalling. So the parts changed were not bad. To be charged so much for an absolute failure to do the job I feel is a rip off. The fact it took 3 weeks and wouldve kept going had I not stopped it. Do not goto this shop it was once a excellent mechanic shop but not anymore. I wouldnt recommend this shop for anything more than inspections. Complete disappointment.

I was referred to him by another shop who could not take on the big job of replacing my entire engine. I had the engine shipped to his shop (1 week) and it was in and running within a week. He even followed up with a courtesy call a few days later checking on how the car was performing. I have since been back to the shop for the rear brakes and rotors. Thomas McRoy Brought a vehicle in to have a nail taken out of a tire and have it repaired. Very simple. The next day while driving to Southampton I noticed a vibration and strange feeling with the steering. I checked the tire and one lug nut was loose to the touch. I could unscrew it with my fingers. The others were not torqued. This place could have gotten me killed. You literally risk your life bringing a car here.

Theresa Dilworth I first went to Auto Lab when I got a flat next door at 84 Lumber. They fixed it right away, and cheaper than other places in Riverhead. Nice people. Came back for an inspection and new tires for my truck. Reasonable price for big truck tires. On the LIE exit 70 I and 3 other cars hit a piece of plywood. All four cars got at least one flat tire, one lady had 3 flat tires. AAA tow truck came and called all the tire places around for a place to tow me to. No one had the special small tire size for my SmartCar. I called Auto Lab; they said they don’t have the tire in stock but meanwhile they could put on a slightly different sized one temporarily, so that I could at least get home. Problem solved.

Without an appt he hooked up his machine & within minutes had a suggestion as to what was wrong. Told me to come back in an hour. I went back & the AC was ice cold. This guy is the AC EXPERT !!

Alan Devries Headed out to get mums with my wife. As we were in Riverhead I noticed smoke coming from the hood of my 2008 Jeep Commander and the smell of something burning. Pulled into a parking lot to look under the hood and when I did I noticed that Riverhead Radiator Service was right across the street. Drove the Jeep over to Riverhead Radiator and met Ken Miller, the second generation owner of the shop. Ken looked under the hood and could immediately see that the a/c compressor was burned and had seized up. He mentioned that he could fix it (but had to order the part resulting in an overnight delay) and gave me a truly reasonable price. I told Ken to go ahead with the repair. While removing the bad compressor, Ken pointed out that the bearing on my water pump was also bad. He stated I could wait to replace the pump but told me to keep on top of it. I told him that since the compressor was removed, giving easy access to the water pump, that he should replace that as well. Again, he gave me a more than reasonable price for the repair. As we lived almost 45 minutes from Ken’s shop, we needed to rent a car to get home. Ken called the local Enterprise Rental agency and helped get a preferred rate for an overnight rental. As we had to wait over an hour for the Enterprise Shuttle to arrive, we had a chance to talk with Ken. He shared fascinating stories about his family and how his father started the business over 50 years ago. We talked about a range of other issues while waiting and found Ken to be a really nice guy. We returned this afternoon to pick the Jeep up. The repair was completed in a timely fashion. The quality of work was exceptional (I could have used a sweater in the car with the a/c unit running), and again we had an enjoyable conversation with Ken. What could have been a horror car repair story actually turned out to be a truly excellent and positive experience. If you ever need radiator or air conditioning service on your vehicle and you’re within the Riverhead Ny area, I absolutely recommend Ken and Riverhead Radiator Service to you!

Sean Flannery Honestly I was so amazed he came out on Sunday of Labor Day weekend and fixed my 74 Cadillac El Dorado in 1 hour. He tried to charge me way less than he should have, so I insisted on tripling what he asked for. I mean Sunday of Labor Day in East Hampton? It should have been impossible but he made it happen I was so shocked. The work was perfect. He told me he did not work on old cars, and then he fixed my 1974 Cadillac in about 30 minutes. It was amazing. I can’t say enough good things. I own a lot of classic cars and this was the best service I have ever had on any of them.
