Shelby Brand Unprofessional staff and insane wait times. The waiting area has very loud music playing and is very bright-not conducive to those coming in with light/noise sensitivity. This is my second experience here within the last 2 years (one as a patient and one as a caregiver) and I’m astounded each time regarding the overall lack of care of patients. I feel like after hour 2 of waiting, a little communication about how much longer they anticipate would go a long way. I highly recommend driving outside of town to other emergency rooms.

Leah Evans If I could leave 0 stars I would. I’d like to start off by saying that the girl at the check in desk was excellent and she did her best given the situation. But never in my life have I seen a medical “professional” with such a lack of empathy or understanding. I took my son to the emergency room as a scared mother unable to keep his high fever of 102.8 down below 101. The dr or pa or whatever he was, started off by speaking to me as though I was incompetent because I had informed him that my other child had had the flu the previous week, letting me know that that’s probably what he had in a very condescending tone. (I was fully aware of that, which is why I gave the info) My son, who number 1 had a fever and wasn’t feeling well, and number 2 has very high anxiety especially when it comes to flu or strep tests. As you can imagine, he was having trouble gathering the bravery to have his nose swabbed as this individual had suggested. The dr was noticeably agitated and was speaking to my son who is 8 like he was a drill sergeant being very short and aggressive. He then told us that since he wouldn’t cooperate, that we could go sit in the waiting area and that we were going to get to be there for at least 2 hours because my son was afraid to get his nose swabbed. At that point I informed him that if we were going to be spoken to like that, that we would be going elsewhere to seek help. Samaritan needs to hire those who also understand the “care “ side of medical care. Extremely disappointing.
