03-2025 MEY New York in The Best 19 Hair Salon in Manhattan, New York Country West Vibe - New York EP: While I wish I could give a better review, the results weren’t what was asked for. I initially had black hair and was looking for a medium to dark neutral, cool town brown. I showed example photos to Maria, and she seemed very knowledgeable about the process and assured there would not be brassiness or red tones (which I specifically asked again just before service - $300). Unfortunately that’s exactly what I got. Then an attempt to tone to help, which made it black again. And then another lightening attempt which made it brassy brown again. At that point I was told to wait for natural light the next day and call. I did and it was still brassy so she offered to fix in the earliest availability. Which was great except when I got back to fix, the quoted cost was $245 for products. I said no and she offered to tone again and assured it would tame the brassiness- it did not and made it black again with brassiness. So now I’m back to wear I started and with a tone I absolutely did not want. The photos show the second attempt at fixing, first photo on the way there, and the next two photos after.
UPDATE: the below response from the salon is untrue. In the initial visit, Maria promised no red/warm/brassy tone. She only in the second visit tried to talk me out of the cool neutral brown color I wanted with all this talk of maintenance etc. although I said I would have still done it- without worry of any budget constraint. Except she was then charging another $245 to make it happen. After the original $300 charged.
Harueh - New York Clint Borzoni: Reina gave me the best haircut of my life. I told her what issues I had with my previous haircuts, and she was great at listening and understood the assignment. She was very detailed oriented and made all the right cuts. Most stylists want to cut too much off, but she did the perfect amount. The salon is lovely too, with friendly a front desk, and shampoo assistants. I highly recommended!!
The Hair & Color Design Salon - New York Priyanka Shah: I recently had a Cezanne Keratin treatment at the salon, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! The service was excellent, and Shirin and Amanda were incredibly professional and knowledgeable. They took the time to understand my hair needs and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. My hair feels smoother, healthier, and more manageable. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for quality hair care and a fantastic experience!
ROGER MARKEL SALON - New York Aimara Alayon: I recently took my daughter to have her hair color transitioned from blonde back to her natural medium brown roots. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a smile and offered tea and a delightful snack, which set a pleasant tone for our visit. Fatima took the time to listen attentively to my daughters preferences and demonstrated exceptional skill and artistry in executing the desired look. Her professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail truly made the experience enjoyable and satisfying. The House of Beauty NYC - New York Srishty Batra: I had a fantastic experience today! Marjana was incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make my visit special. She took the time to recommend the perfect hair color options for me and even gave me a complimentary blow-dry, which was such a lovely surprise. My hair looks and feels amazing! I truly appreciate her expertise and generosity. Highly recommend!

Hair Bar NYC Midtown - New York Kily A Wong: Great service and results every time. I always get single color process, and my hairstylist Senait provides a great experience that goes above and beyond. She is super friendly, shares lots of hair advice, and even makes me a tea while I wait. The blowout looks really nice and lasts a few days. Glad to be a regular.
Living Room Hair Salon - New York Julia Megibow Dolson: I will try to make this review short and sweet as I know long one can be daunting, but let me tell you that I feel like I have FINALLY found my new salon and stylist in the Upper East Side. As we all know, especially those of us that color our hair, finding a good salon and a good stylist can be quite a journey. I had been to several other salons in the neighborhood and some I would stay at for a few months, but then something would happen that would cause me to look elsewhere.
I came in on a Sunday and Giuseppe was my stylist. I said to him only a few simple things - half head of highlights and blended and he went to work. i dont know how he did it or if he is a psychic, but it was like he read my mind and gave me exactly what I wanted and I AM THRILLED. I feel like only really good and amazing stylists can take a little information and make it amazing.
He also has such a strong passion for hair coloring and the art of it. He thoroughly enjoys his work and making people happy by giving them exactly what they want and you can tell as it was very much reflected in his work and personality.
Also the Living room hair salon is HUGE and just beautiful! I dont think I have been to a salon that clean, organized and spacious since I lived in California!
Seriously - if you want a wonderful experience with wonderful stylists - look no further as The Living Room Hair Salon is IT.
Gugush Hair Studio - New York Piya Newkirk: The stylist here are fantastic. Ishee cuts my hair and my kids regular. Julian did my blowout and style for a recent black tie event and the results were fabulous! He did it in record time and I got compliments all night.
